Beer, one of the most consumed alcoholic beverage in on the planet.
Easy and fun to brew, great to enjoy with friends or just by yourself when you need to spice up your day.
Be it white, Blonde, dark, single-dubble-triple, just hop or more experimental with fruit and whiskey. There are some great beers with impressive tastes.
it depends on in which country you live, but west Europe has a great beer brewing culture with many small and big breweries presenting world-class beers that are enjoyed around the world. Lets not forget America, also.
Lets talk about it, here.
As a Dutchman myself, let me start by offering everyone who ever drunk a Heineken my sincere apologies. You were probably better off having a cup of unfiltered canal water in Amsterdam. These green bottles don’t even deserve to wear the word ‘beer’ on their labels. It’s polluted water with 5% alcohol, leaving for prices as if the Dutch king brewed it himself. And like the other major players on the international beer market, Heineken too is buying lots of nice old breweries that are struggling because they hold on to their original recipes. All over the world decent brands have been completely ruined by switching to ‘the Heineken Way’.
I usually go for beer with a slight cherry and caramel flavor. Sweet, but I also enjoy dark beer with a smokey flavor and thick body.
My favourite brands are Hertog Jan, Leffe and St Bernardus Abt 12 and Gouden Carlosus.
75cl of 10% dark whiskey goodness. Bottles with cork are also top tier.
Lets just remember:
Cans are shit. Bottles are God.
