Why the Earth isn't Flat

1. If it was round, airplanes and ships wouldn't disappear UNDER the horizon.
2. We wouldn't be able to dig miles under the Earth.
3. Someone would've fallen off the edge or seen the edge by now.
4. Ocean would fall off the edge, and all of the oceans would dry up.
5. There would be no satellites and no TV; There would be no satellite interferences.
6. The sun would shine on the whole thing, or none at all.
7. I would see Mount Everest from here.

I still haven't seen any evidence to contradict any of these in the whole forum.
believe the Earth is round. That must make me... EVIL!!!

1.    For some reason they are diverted from the edge, how I still need to research that more thoroughly.

2.    We can dig for miles on a flat earth the bottom is just farther than the deepest hole we have dug

3.    Maybe someone did fall off and they are gone, and if someone has seen it they would come to a forum like this and be ridiculed if they told what they know and no one would believe them

4.     The Ice wall protects the ocean

5.     How do we know that TV is broadcast from satellites?

6.     The sun shines on certain locations at certain times

7    You would not be able to see Mt Everest. This is similar to how you cant see more than 100 feet in either direction on a hazy day and how your eyes cant see more than 100 miles.

OK Bullhorn. You came up with some pretty good answers. I wold still like to know why the ships dissapear under the horizon, where you came up with an ice wall stopping the ocean from falling off, and how the sun shines on only certain areas at a time. What, is there some kind of wall on it to point the light? get back to us.  8-)

1-2. You got me there.

3. Yeah, but it would be a part of common knowledge by now if people came off the edge.

4. I've never seen or heard about any 150 foot wall of ice.

5. If it wasn't, then there would never be satellite interferences by weather, and the government wouldn't bother spending millions of dollars on radio towers or satellite dishes.

6. The Sun is too far away to shine on certain locations. If it's only dozens of miles away like you say, it still would cover a huge amount of land at a time being as bright as it is.

7. See point on 1-2.

1. My arse -  I bet they're diverted by magic or by the force of your amazing fucking stupidity

2. We have been over 2km down - It is a big disc

3-6. I agree with Anticonspirator

7. Actually, Bullhorn has stumbled something moderately correct. You would not be able to see Everest with the naked eye. You may be able to see it however, with a ver good telescope and an exceptionally clear day.
hate you all... The world is a god damn icosahedron you bunch of flatearther bogans.

Personally I wish bullhorn the best of luck in his expedition to the edge of the world.  I hope he may find all he's looking for there.  Sadly, I will not be going along to assist him.

But back to ships going over the horizon hull-first.  Whatever the flat-Earth explanation for that is, it actually will have to claim that when ships appear to go over the horizon, they are nowhere near the edge.  So, bullhorn, while researching the ship-horizon issue, I suggest abandoning the search for the "diverting force" you claim exists.

3. Yeah, but it would be a part of common knowledge by now if people came off the edge.
Ever heard the expression "He just fell off the face of the Earth"? Now it's just an expression meaning "we can't find him", but in the time where the majority did believe in a flat Earth, people were reported as falling off the Earth many times. Although, odds are they didn't because of the ice wall.

4. I've never seen or heard about any 150 foot wall of ice.
That's because I don't think it's been encountered yet. If you look at this model of the flat Earth:

You can see that it is bordered by the South "Pole", which is shown as a large strip of white. If you compare the thickness of it to some place on the Earth, you can see that it's almost half the width of North America. So, it's just so large there, that no one has actually made it to the wall yet. Even in the round Earth mindset, people haven't been that far into Antarctica.

5. If it wasn't, then there would never be satellite interferences by weather, and the government wouldn't bother spending millions of dollars on radio towers or satellite dishes.
Odds are there are satellites, simply because they demostratably make things work. They get launched up outside the Earth's atmos-dome (not a sphere ;) ) and orbit in a circular motion with the North Pole serving as the center. Much in the same way as I demostrated the sun does in another topic, but at a much lower level.

6. The Sun is too far away to shine on certain locations. If it's only dozens of miles away like you say, it still would cover a huge amount of land at a time being as bright as it is.
You're assuming that what is currently assumed to be true about the sun really is. The sun is actually much smaller, and much closer than previously assumed. It is also much less powerful. It therefore cannot shine on the entire world, but only parts of it as it rotates at a high "orbit".
