I really liked Eramus' "gravity lens" idea posted long ago.

http://theflatearthsociety.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10725&highlight=gravitational+lens#10725

But in order to get a sunset/sunrise the lens would have to be an entire hemisphere, extending exactly to or below the ice wall.  Now I've only studied very basic optics, but I'm pretty sure there is massive distortion of color and geometry towards the edges of such a lens.  So the sun would end up a very funny shape (probably like an upside-down mushroom) and rainbow colored.  Speculation, though.
