Wow.  Can be mass produced for about $2000.  That's really not bad at all.  I'm sure the military wouldn't mind taking the idea and running it into the ground, since that's what America's all about.

Have you ever seen the movie of that guys trying to make (either a bear-proof suit or) an invincible suit - and he's out in the woods getting large logs smashed into him and such?

You know the real-life fighting suit was actually invented quite a while back...

Also, it was a good deal more expensive, and a good deal heavier.

I think with the advent of this invention, we should all declare peace, and invade peaceful aliens.

Another thing, if this suit enters service in the future, wars will become something very diffrent (like when we switched to firearms). I think if America gets these suits, prolly spies will steal them, and soon every country in the world will have them. And how do you fight a war with invulnerable soldiers?

Good question. I think it would lead to even more civilian casualties.

Yeah, exactly.  This sort of battle suit would just mean more snipers with high-powered rifles.  This suit might be able to help shield against .22 and 9mm rounds, but I'm sure a 50cal slug would tear right through it like it was toilet paper.

or create the need for better energy-based weapon systems, or weapons with specific purposes, IE a weapon designed to short out everything in the suit. Or even further enhancing anti-infantry arms mounted on vehicles.

There is a name for this, I believe it has something to do with the Queen of Hearts from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but I can't for the life of me recall it now.

The suit is nice, but it does have weaknesses, high powered rounds were mentioned, and those would work quite nicely.  In the end, it would be better to have unmanned weapons systems dominate the battlefields, although they are expensive, and having UAVs fight each other would be a great waste of tax money.

However, when a country is dominant economically over their opponents, Unmanned weapons play a crucial role in that human lives (at least not this country's lives) are put at risk.

These suits would be useful in urban combat situations when you are not expecting a great display of force, as they will allow for an amount of intimidation value.  Against a real military, such a suit's capabilities will be outstripped by the use of air dominance and superiority, not to mention tactical missiles.

That's what I've been saying for years.

Of course, the Americans would probably win at the FPSs, since that's all we do.

Maybe in everything else.  There's a reason only one real Japanese FPS was made.  I can never remember the name of it, though.
