How is it not compatible with a free market? Is something only the result of the free market when you like it? And it's a bit silly to say that China "copies" the US, all China does is offer very cheap labour and well equipped factories, and they get all the benefits from that. You only buy their stuff because you're free too, and the companies flock to China because, again, they're free to, and now their companies are also making lots of money off of their own products, like much cheaper and better smartphones for example, because, you guessed it, you are free to buy them. Where exactly does the stealing come from? That's not stealing, that's competition.

The company I worked for made small gasoline engines, and by the time I left that company, they were buying Chinese engines and slapping their own sticker on them because it was cheaper to do that than make the engines themselves.  They do not respect copyright laws, and, the Chinese engines were copied so well that they even had our logo on the individual parts.

The company I worked for made small gasoline engines, and by the time I left that company, they were buying Chinese engines and slapping their own sticker on them because it was cheaper to do that than make the engines themselves.  They do not respect copyright laws, and, the Chinese engines were copied so well that they even had our logo on the individual parts.

They're not even infringing patents most of the time (it's not where most of their GDP comes from), but even if that was the case, cool, so what, they're your competition. They're not physically taking your stuff, they had 0 know-how a few decades ago and now they're the top growing economy.

Stealing your ideas is not theft now?  They let others come up with ideas, spend money on research and development, and market something, and then swoop in to take that idea and make it their own, and then play the third world card by saying what you just said; "You can't blame us.  A few decades ago, we knew nothing."  It is the same for all of the smog and greenhouse gasses they produce, but they shrug their shoulders and play off the backwoods hick thing, like we will all say it is OK, they are just behind the times or backwards.

They are actually taking more steps to decrease emissions, you guys have twice their emissions per capita, and you've pulled out of the Paris agreement, do your part, everyone else is.

Do you know who else does not like the Paris Agreement?  People in Paris.  They rioted when they found out the price of their fuel was going to double.  They flipped cars over and burnt shit because the Paris Agreement only punishes the little guy who is trying to go to work and bring food home to their families.   Meanwhile, the fat cats who fly around in private jets to lecture the rest of us on how bad it is to work and bring home food don't seem to mind it at all.
