One of the few shows I actually watch on television (typically don't watch much because of A.D.D.)...yes it is not perfect, but I enjoy it. The girl I have been seeing for a while, her dad was a cop/then detective/csi (apparently the detectives did all the CSI work in this town) for 20 some years. He approves it as well as his friends, with the same tone... Not perfect, but pretty accurate for a TV show.


However, I found this movement of people claiming the show is racist and needs to be removed from the network..... Fucking facepalm, people are dumb...so dumb...I bet Shaun King is behind it somehow, I just feel it.

To answer the question posed by the topic, No it is not.

It is a very good show with a good cast, although there are times when the plot and the acting ability falls a little flat.  Probably one of the better fictional cop shows to have been aired.

Well, they have over 150 episodes now, so you can't get mad over a dud or two.

I don't know what is blue bloods and I don't see that Op'r write. But I know only about this, Op'r himself is a clear racist .

It's been my experience that you can always find a group of lunatics claiming a grievance against a show for any reason.

When there's movements such as #cancelcolbert and apu is racist and an uproar over all the rape scenes in game of thrones(if you haven't seen it, there's a scene where they burn a little girl alive but yeah, let's complain about the rapes) it's just hard to take these accusations seriously.

Going by google, the objection seems to be that all the major characters are white, and the most prominent black characters, recurring and one-off, are painted as villains. How accurate that is I have no idea, I tend not to like police procedurals, just giving the side of the argument CFC neglected.

I don't think anyone's saying you shouldn't watch it, or that the show's actively recruiting for the KKK, or anything like that. This whole area of critique is never 'This is irredeemable trash if you like it you are bad and should feel bad,' outside of overexcited kids or the things Crouton mentioned. Just tends to be pointing out awkward trends, so that at the end of the day you can enjoy fiction as fiction rather than accidentally taking on board stereotypes. The reaction shouldn't be "Oh no this is awful BURN IT!" outside of a few extreme cases, just a "Huh... yeah, that does happen a lot. Anyway, next episode!"
