damn that's sad :(

It's the second really bad tsunami they got since 2000. I think they should build some proper infrastructure where people can hide in case of a tsunami. And/or better warning systems.

They have a population of over 200 million. That's a lot of tax payers. Maybe the government should try being less corrupt. Australia on 26 million manages to spare billions every year for foreign aid

https://dfat.gov.au/about-us/corporate/portfolio-budget-statements/Pages/2018-19-australian-aid-budget-at-a-glance.aspx

That's not even for us. Indonesia need to stop being learners and be a nation of lifters. No reason they couldn't set aside billions of dollars to fix the shit that needs being done. Such as making sure the tsunami warning buoys actually work

Indonesia needs to have more flat earthers, but not hackers. In my opinion, they have not enough good people but evils everywhere.

I can't give objection about your opinion.
Evils are everywhere. Jakarta is the nastiest place of evil people.
It could be there are so many evil people in there, it could be some, not many, organized people do evil all day all night.

I wonder if buildings would be more tsunami resistant if they were built with an 'arrow head' towards the sea, so that incoming water would be split instead of pressing on to the whole wall.
Or alternatively, just turn buildings 45° so that not the flat side would face the ocean but a 90° corner.

Your assuming that the water will travel from a particular direction.

Yeah you're right.
It just happens that in case of a tsunami the water usually comes from the ocean, you know.
