Hurricane Florence

Are any of you in the path? I've got a few friends and relatives up there, some of them are evacuating.

I think I am directly in the path.  Last I heard it will hit Friday morning.  I haven't decided if I will stay or go yet. 

Unless you are inland a ways, I say bail! Or shoot at the storm to try and push it away. But even that might not work this time. It looks like a big 'un.

I am near Raliegh, NC.  Weather.com is calling for it to be down to 45 mph when it hits us.  I hope this is true. 

One of my sisters lives in Georgetown, they are heading inland.

Won't be coming my way, this time.

The thinner trees behind my home are dancing in the wind.  Rain is only showers at the moment, but my work wants for me to go in tonight and stay until it is over.  Fuck my house and my family, at least they will be running production.

No shit.  I did not know until yesterday that they expect me to leave my family and.hang out there for 24 hours or.more at my shitty work that will probably lose power anyway and not be able to do shit. But they don't give a shit, even though replacements will not be able to cross the flooded river.  Duck them.  . 

My bosses will be taking care of their homes and families, but I will be with a handful of guys with no power, limited food and water, and my cell phone data still sucks. Fuck out. 

Your family needs you, unless your job is like firefighter or paramedic or in an ER or for the power company, I can't see why company would need you to work through a fucking hurricane. Shit, even the power company lets their groundmen and linemen stay home until the storm passes.

My work says they need an engineer there, just in case they have electrical problems, as if I can make the electricity magically come on,.

Ah, the essential worker.  I used to work on a contract where I was considered an essential worker.  Had to drive in to work with 2 feet of snow on the ground.

I recommend you to take compulsory leave from work and go beside your wife, if you have not child. If you have chils, then take your wife together compulsory leave and you two go to your children. I think you have not childs so strongly recommend you go beside of your family. Because everytime everything may happens and it is important you go everywhere together, that the destiny wherever lets you go.

You also sound like you're coming down with something. It would be very irresponsible to go to your job, get stuck there due to the storm, and get everyone else sick because you were too proud to take a sick day.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. It sounds like jroa has a job that's kind of important in a disaster. But if his employer is going to impose on him like this then they really need to make sure his family is safe.

This seems logical and a fair trade.

My grandfather did that with my grandma and I in Florida when he was still in the military. I was just a kid, but I had fun, though I didn't realize the seriousness of the situation at that age obviously.

Wherever you decide to stay there, but with your family. Either bring them with you to your work office, or stay with them in home. Loneliness belongs only to God. Union makes stregth. You can find a new job you can not find a new family. At least, if you are not a son of orospu, so you can not find a new family. Wait, what?
