If the Earth is flat how does gravity work?

If the Earth is round, there is one force pulling everything to a central point (the center of the Earth). So how would it work if the Earth is flat?

Also, where is the middle of the Earth? Not the center, just the middle of the flat area.

In a lot of photos and in certain areas of the world... you can actually see the curvature of the Earth on the horizon. How is this explained? Finally, if the earth is flat, how can you watch a boat sail over the horizon? Now that I think about it... if the Earth is flat, how is there a horizon?

I'd like all of my questions answered please... I'm interested in this.

1.) the word is accelerating upwards, simulating gravity

2.) The north-pole is the center of the disc

3.) An optical illusion, or it's just edited by people that are involved with the "conspiracy"

4.) The reason you see a horizon is cuz the air in the atmosphere disorts your vision. u cant see all the way...

5.) the boat thing is the same as above

Sorry buddy, you wont get a straight answer from these people.  Its all conspiracy and cover up.  They might say the flat earth accelerates upwards so we get gravity though

Got a few more,

How does the Earth revolve around the sun? Can somebody gimme a quick MS Paint diagram of what way its facing and stuff? does the earth flip over and over? Like flipping a coin in the air? Or do we spin like a cd in a cd player? If we spin like a cd... hen wouldn't it be day time all the time?

The more I think about this... the more silly it seems I'm afraid to say.

You are not the only one

Ok according to flat earth joke.. i mean theory!! the moon and the sun are flat and are circeling above the flat-earth. the sun and moon are a spotlight, thats why the light isnt allways visible everywhere.

i know... its ridiculous

according to what ive been reading here, Orbits dont exist. The sun and moon are essentially lightbulbs getting brighter and dimmer at varying points for nite and day.

Is that right?

Hahaha, if the Earth is accelerating upwards all the time, how? Whats pushing/pulling it upwards? And surely that means something must also be pushing/pulling the Sun, Moon, other planets... right?

And also, to have gravity the speed would have to be constantly increasing to force us down as the earth moves on.

So if it's been increasing at such a rate since the dawn of time... surely it would be into immense speeds beyond any of our reckoning? Faster than light speed by now?

How was the earth made?

The theory of a small ball slowly growing as it collected more particles is reasonable...  but if you have a bundle of random particles in space, how could it possibly come together in the shape of a disk?

I was shocked to find out people believe in this... it's madness in my eyes.

Flat Earth theory is not silly, it is absolutely probable, and glaringly obvious in hindsight.

The sun shines on the flat earth like a spotlight, the earth does not rotate around it. The sun illuminates a specific part of the world at a time, causing day and night. The area of the spotlight is constantly moving across the face of the planet.

Totally right, its all just a big joke if u ask me.

but here is the awnser:

1.) whats pushing everything upwards is called dark energy or whatever. what it is and how its doing it nobody knows

2.) The earth is not going faster than light... but it is accelerating... still goign faster and faster and its bull****

3.) They dont know how it was made, but then again, how do WE know for sure how it was made?

4.) the chances are zero

Whats making the sun and earth circle above the Earth?

if the earth is accelerating upwards... wont we hit the sun and smash a massive light bulb?

If the Sun and Moon are circling us... whats circling other planets? Are the other planets just sitting there... in complete darkness without a sun? Or do they have little spotlights of their own? wait a second...

If we are accelerating upwards and that causes gravity, surely the moon would have to be accelerating slower (because it has a lower gravity). So will we catch up to the moon one day?

How do you get half moons and crescent moons?

THIS THEORY IS STUPID!

Have you actually stepped outside and seen the world around you?? Or ever looked through a telescope to see the sun is not 1000 miles up?  I mean come on, you have to deny 500 years of people looking through telescopes.  Educated people that were a lot smarter than you and me.

Whats making the sun shine on different spots?

Whats on the other side of the spotlight? A blank disk of rock? What powers the sun? Surely God's electricity bill must be sky high having to power that thing 24/7.

1.) No, we wont smash the sun cuz everything in the universe or whatever is moving upwards...

2.) Yeah the planets seem to have a little spotlight of their own, and they're all flat... some say they may be round ( the flat earthers arent sure about that)

3.) Well we havent been on the moon or in space according to them.. its all just a conspirecy... so we couldnt know what the gravity of the moon is... its just going parallel with the sun, earth and stars

No they wouldn't...

If you are on a plane, traveling at 700mph why aren't you crushed into your seat? You get crushed at take off (when its accelerating) but when it reaches a constant speed... there are no forces acting on you.

Can't help but notice none of my questions have been given a reasonable answer....

My final thought: The prospect of the Earth being flat is sheer idiocy. Why would anybody want to create such an elaborate cover up?

And to what aid. Complete ludacris. Terry Pratchett books are in the FICTION section for a reason. Ya`ll need to start learning to trust people, there is absolutly no reason for scientests,NASA,the government, pingu and Bill Gates to be covering this up.

None of you have even gave the slightest reason as to WHY there is a cover-up. Tell us that. What is your reasoning behind this somewhat crackpot faith..

If the Earth is flat how does gravity work?

There is actually debate on how gravity works in the FE model. Some believe in a universal accelerator constantly pushing everything upward. Others believe that the earth has more mass on its underside, which pulls everything downward. The earth does not collapse into a ball because of structural integrity.

The middle of the earth is deep underground beneath the north pole.

It’s not necessarily NASA heading this conspiracy. The UN was formed in part to coordinate RE education across the world and hammer out details on Ice Wall defense. There are supposedly testimonies which can be attributed. Each of the countries came to an agreement on duties and responsibilities.

No country will state the reality of the world being flat because it would create mass hysteria and have far reaching implication in the economy. The powerful countries would also invent a reason to embargo the whistle blowers.

The puppet masters rely on the billions of dollars spent on space exploration in order to mold the world into their own image.

if everything, like all planets and stars are moving upwards, then that means that if you jump off the edge of the flat earth....that would have to mean you'd move upwards with it, you'd never fall behind cos you'd have to be pulled along with this "dark energy", right?   so in this FE "theory", all bodies within the entire universe must be effected by this force, which means we wouldnt feel the "gravity" generated from the accelerating earth, because we ourselves would also have this force acting on us.

you know?

lol, if anyone would like to debate this, go ahead.

im from just outside kilmarnock, live in a farm so its pretty awkward for gettin to places.  i like the idea of glasgow, like havin lots of things to do there an stuff, but i cant stay too long there cos i start to feel ill from the pollution, not that theres lots of it, its just living on a farm means i have a totally lame tolerance for cities.

Yes, the FE is accelerating.  The reaction forces provided by the earth give us what you would call the feeling of 'gravity'.
NASA is a government entity.  It provides 'evidence' of the RE in exchange for money.

man, was that your answer to my question of the FE theory of the accelerating earth?  are you saying that the dark energy just ignores us and moves the earth, so in other words we're just along for the ride?
