What about simply changing it so the penguins don't know who the other penguins are?  This seems like an easy way to lend a small balance.  It would make it so the penguins also have the risk of killing their own, and prevents them from coordinating.  It would give them a taste of the helplessness we feel.

This would take some coordination between the narrator and the dead, and secrecy on the part of the dead, but the IRL game had some situations that could take place, one of which was a seance. Basically, the dead people know who the penguins are, and the living people nominate someone to contact the dead and ask a question. The questions are predetermined to provide some information, but not outright give them away, such as is the penguin male or female, do they wear glasses, what color hair do they have, etc. Obviously the questions would need to be tweaked some, such as does their name contain a certain letter or have they voted for an innocent to die, or something else like that. It kind of plays off of cruton's idea of the 3 dead psychic.

I like the ideas of clues. I think that every time a penguin kills there should be a clue. But I don't know how to make a clue that straddles the line between useless and game breaking.

Another variation on that idea.

Players can vote to hold a seance to use a ghost as a psychic instead of lynching. One reading per ghost. Maybe the ghost gets to pick the target.

I don't know.  I feel like there are too many options, but we don't get enough players.

A higher chance of a special role might get more players involved. Speaking from experience it is much more exciting when you're doing more than guessing.

I thought the twins variant was fun. One's a villager, one's a werepenguin, and to win they have to be the last two survivors.

Do the twins operate the same as lovers, where 1 dies the other dies as well?

Shit, I can't remember. Given that they both need to survive it would seem pointless if it was otherwise. Probably the same variation under different names.

With the lovers, a character cupid gets to pick 2 people, so it could be any combination of villagers, special villagers, and penguins.

It's different then. And anyway it occurs to me that it wouldn't really work without more than two werepenguins.

Pretending to be someone you are not and then eating people seems to be a very Pezevenk thing to do.

Oh it's in there. Just a bad angle. And a cooking rack. And a note that says "you're next, penguin" which doesn't make any sense.

Tell Mrs Cruton that adding mushrooms to the s'mores is a vast improvement!

Pez and deadsirius are very quiet. Maybe they died gorging on SCG's carcass. It's possible given it was filled to the brim with mushrooms and s'mores that were toasted over rotting flesh.

But they are penguins, and what would normally kill a human may just give them indigestion. I'm sure they'll be back. If they post again, that's confirmation they are penguins.
