moon just after sunset
« on: July 20, 2018, 07:04:24 PM »
Last night I watched the sunset from my back yard. I appeared to be on the western horizon. As it got dark, I saw the moon, pretty close to a half moon. In my mind, I made a line perpendicular to the straight edge of the lit hemisphere of the moon. I followed that line to the horizon, just where the sun had gone down. This is exactly what you would expect with a round moon lit on one side by the sun just below the horizon.

Usually, it is hard to visualize the relative position of sun and moon. In this case, it all matched up with RE. I wonder what the FE explanation of half moon is and how reasonable it would seem next to the RE explanation.
Is it possible for something to be both true and unproven?

Are things that are true and proven any different from things that are true but not proven?

Hmmm, you should turn that into a question.

A there's been a couple of threads running on "the other site" covering somewhat similar material.
The first started out as "Full Moon Impossible on Flat Earth?" and got hijacked by Tom Bishop onto what is commonly called "The moon terminator illusion" or the "The moon tilt illusion".
It is a genuine illusion, though is simply a case of "3-D perspective". You might like to look at:
