I think the best way to make any progress with this type of material is to do an experiment.
The big issue is the scale involved.
No one seems to disagree with the results expected at the small scale.
The problem is that FEers require it to do something fundamentally different at the large scale where instead of objects simply shrinking, they appear much lower than expected and disappear from the bottom up.
This large scale requires long distances, where the curvature of Earth would start to be significant.
If you assume Earth is flat, you get the results the FEers want, where objects are lower than they should be and appear to disappear from the bottom up.
If you accept it is round, you get the same results as at the small scale.
That's why I propose we shift from an adversarial approach and instead adopt an approach of collaboration.
Which typically doesn't work with the FEers either.
If you do the experiment and don't get the result they want, they will accuse of lying or other dishonesty.
Likewise, if they claim that they got a result which no one other than FEers seem capable of obtaining, they will often be accused of lying.
If collaboration was enough, there wouldn't be FEers, as the collaboration has already shown Earth to be round.
I've done a little experiment that I think was very enlightening. I'm inviting others to do the experiment too so that we can each come up with (ideally) the same results on our own. Then maybe we can talk about what those results mean knowing that we all saw the same patterns.
Then perhaps you should start a thread on this experiment with all the details for everyone to see and comment on rather than just inviting people, or if you have it already, link to it.
Edit: I assume this is the experiment?
