Simply: why?

Why would the governments of the world spend trillions of dollars covering up the true shape of the Earth? Why should they feel the need to hide the fact that the Earth is flat? I haven't seen this question answered and I seriously would love to see one.

All of them are indebted their chairs to defending the dishonest lie of globism. Remember, politicians are most possiblity say lie. This is just a bit of their hudge number of lies. This may be not hard for them to do.

The government can't hide such aa big thing from us because they don't have the technology to do so. And doing so would be pointless, the government doesn't benefit from spending that much money on just hiding something no one cares about.

Because is hilarious! Wouldn't you do the same in their position?

This is a very reasonable question and none of the FE explanations hold water.

The notion of a Round Earth goes back to ancient times, and was widely accepted by educated people at least five centuries ago.  If the Earth were flat, you'd think someone would have found The Edge by now (after all, it's in every direction if you go far enough).  For the vast majority of humans, the shape of the planet really doesn't affect their personal lives, but if it were some govt hoax then isn't it strange that an enemy country or even some former govt operative would have blown the secret by now.

But flat-earthers believe that they and they alone know the truth !
Hence Flat-earthers must close their minds to any contrary evidence.

Closing the mind to any contrary evidence is typical of people that believe in a conspiracy against their belief.
Many try to deny it, but then their arguments prove that they rely on a conspiracy against the flat earth. See Look at this:

It clearly states "The FET (Flat Earth Theory) is an obvious truth" and "If personally unverifiable evidence contradicts an obvious truth then the evidence is fabricated".

And it is well known that Conspiracy theorists believe wild ideas because they want to feel special.
This is confirmed by the number claims they make as to their "knowing THE Truth!".

Flat Earthers are but one little group of Conspiracy theorists but one of the worst but the have believe so many are lying to them.

Often presenting evidence against their belief simply strengthens that belief and this new piece of evidence is just added to the conspiracy.

So, they can never be convinced, but there are many here not "too far down the rabbit hole" that might see any good contrary evidence we might present.

What happens when I’m interested in pursuing a political career (I’m not fortunately)? Do I get a FET crash course when I get elected?

How does the government hide something we see everyday without the technology nessesary to do so.
