Les Fridman interviews Oliver Stone.

Haven't watched it yet.  Should be interesting.

Okay so lessons learned from this interview.

1.  Joe Biden tricked Putin into starting this war.

2.  Ukraine was planning to invade the Donbass which is a region of their own country.  I don't know if "invade" is the right word for something like that.

3.  Zelensky leads an authoritarian government that executes journalists.  Oliver Stone is afraid to be interviewed by Zelensky since he believes that he'll almost certainly be executed.

4.  The Ukranian military is powered by Nazis which give them super human fighting ability.

5.  Despite the fact that Putin is clearly the aggressor. this is all the west's  fault.

I'm not making up or exaggerating any of this.

Jordon Peterson is really shaping up to be a top internet comedian.

It's an interesting video.  He's talked to opposing views on this in depth and this video is the result.  His conclusions are so deeply wrong on so many levels that I don't even know where to begin.  He starts off describing the situation in a way that makes me pretty sure he's never looked at a map of Ukraine.  Large stretches of the video are composed of what I can best describe as intellectual diarrhea.  The best part was that he justified Russia invading Ukraine because our wokeness is infecting Ukraine and using lethal force is the only way to defend against that apparently.

Okay, while Peterson is a prig and shouty with it, and his dragging in of his hatred of gender politics  as an important reason for the war is a stretch, I find myself agreeing on several points.

We, (the west) will not win the war. It would appear that the west thinks that the slow degradation of Russia's military will conclude in a capitulation of Russia's ambition there, this will never happen.

The underlying basis's for the conflict, (and as he says, including Putin's unconscionable action and his hubris) do include the west's appropriation by assimilation of former soviet countries with their vast importance in its history and their equally vast strategic and economic value. This was a monumental stupid and arrogant misreading of geopolitics.

The consequences he extrapolates are undeniably happening already and are liable to snowball in the very near future.

To imagine that the good guy wins this, or even that the good guy really exists in this context is massively delusional.

All the same, he is very difficult to watch.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "win".  Does the west emerge in a better position than before?  Probably not.  Can the west support Ukraine enough to halt Russia and reclaim at least some of their territory before some kind of peace is achieved?  I think this is likely.  It's a matter of hardware and the will to fight.  There's no shortage of either.

Regarding the former Soviet states, there's a lot of complicated history there that I'm not aware of.  But the fact that these former states are some of Ukraine's strongest supporters tells me that they have no desire to align with Russia.  I'm not so it took all that much treachery on our part to separate them from Russia.

Oh he is most definitely right on about the possible consequences even though he doesn't quite have his facts straight regarding oil and energy.  We're on a razer's edge.  But the powers that be are painfully aware of that and are working to avoid it.  Just today there's been an agreement made between Russia, Ukraine and Turkey to not only let Ukraine ship grain again but also to allow Russia to sell grain and fertilizer.  Hopefully that works out.

I'm just fascinated with the way these videos are produced and performed.  Why the Bond supervillain look?

And now he's in a wood shed telling CEOs that wokeness is bad.  What backdrop will he attempt next?

His manner of speaking reminds me of a somewhat unhinged Piter de Vries.

I think it nailed it.  It sounds like something Wise would write.

If you like mad scientist stuff, this is a great channel. It just started popping up in my recommendations yesterday, and I normally don't watch metal recovery stuff. This guy seems to be doing it just to show how it's done. He does a good job explaining the chemical reactions.

Alright.  Some important lessons learned about English politics.

1.  Schools are shooting concrete blocks at kids.
2.  You must be able to wield a sword to be considered for the PM job.
3.  Sticking fingers up someone else's ass is a requirement for public service.

All things that are known here, the parliamentary coat racks actually all have a purple ribbons to hang your sword on.
