Try to pay for your groceries with gold the next time you go to the store and tell me how it goes. Think the clerk will accept it?

Uh, obviously? Well at least if he knows it's real.

Quote
So I suppose gold is worthless because you need to trade it for money to buy other things, right?

? Wtf are you talking about? When did I say it's worthless?

Quote
What do you mean you doubt they'll remain untraceable? You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Just saying, your ignorance is shining through pretty bright here.

I'm saying that even if currently governments don't have what it takes to trace them, they may very well develop it in the future, or just impose constraints on what features a cryptocurrency can have, or even keep you on record for using that currency, like they already do with Monero etc.

Sorry, I meant I guess gold has no intrinsic value. That's what you're saying, right?

If a blockchain is started anonymously and centered in anonymity, there's no way to enforce that it follows any rules. It's not really a matter of having the technology to trace them, it's just fundamentally impossible.

The government can already trace bitcoin transactions.  There was a case not very long ago were a guy was acquired because the government would not give up details in court about how they tracked him.

Some "so called police" groups keep following and recording us. They are following both my computers at work and at home, like how hackers do. Although they deny it, they do it by legally. What a nonsence. Because they afraid from court. Although I have made many legal initiatives in this regard, they still continue their misconduct and attacks. These are the savage people who are not as afraid of God. a significant number of witnesses are needed to describe them as human beings.

but soon I will open a  large compensation case. even if the government does not want to give it, the European Court of Justice can finally decide. I have not yet decided on this issue. I expect the state to do something about this illegal structure within itself.

I'm not afraid that someone will take my accounts and learn my passwords. because in this world there is a system of justice that has to work, at least "seemingly" working.

No because you can actually do something with gold. Like make stuff.

It's not like anyone would go through the effort to do that for ordinary people, but even then it's not impossible to put the pieces together. If it uses a blockchain it is traceable. Using stealth addresses and mixing makes it near impossible, and some currencies do offer that, but even then no system is fool proof. However these currencies aren't very popular outside of the criminal world. But as I said, tracing it isn't even required if you want to restrict the market.

That has always been possible. I mean, the blockchain is public. Not too difficult.

Oh, right, you can make stuff. What about all the platforms built on blockchains? Wide spread decentralized p2p networks have a ton of real-life use cases.

How would you restrict it without tracing it if it was deployed anonymously?

Why are you trying to argue for something that is obviously wrong and no one even pretends otherwise except of you? What do platforms built on blockchains have to do with anything?? What can you do with a bitcoin other than sell it? How does it help you in any way?

If they decide using these "untraceable" currencies is illegal, they will never become mainstream. Companies won't accept it for fear they get in trouble. Public won't trust it. It will be hard to get your hands on some. The market would be restricted and it would mostly be used for criminal activities. And that's if the criminals trusted the exchanges. So if they did decide to restrict the market it wouldn't be hard at all to do it, EVEN if they couldn't trace its users. Chances are if crypto does end up becoming the main thing eventually, it will come with compromises and regulations that banks and governments will agree with. And actually that's kind of a good thing because it will mean less money laundering.

One of the biggest Turkish Bank "Akbank" started to use blockchain tecnology by agreement with Ripple.

http://www.hdteknohaber.com/akbanktan-blockchain-aciklamasi-gmy-tolga-ulutas/

In this news, co-director of Akbank says they made an agreement with "Ripple" for use the "blockchain tecnology" by transferring money.  unusual and brilliant news.

Is anyone actually using bitcoin or other crypto stuff for what they're actually supposed to do (transactions, storing value etc) instead of waiting until its price skyrockets so that they can sell higher afterwards? It seems like the bathmate works almost like a weird version of a Ponzi scheme to me...

A Ponzi scheme uses new money to pay old money.
Bitcoin is a pump and dump. Talk it up and bail when you think it has reached it's top.

It's very similar though. The older buyers convince new buyers to buy BTC because the prices are rising and they can make a profit if they keep rising. Because people dump more and more money, even if the older buyers start extracting money as a whole the trend is still upwards. So basically the most recent buyers are the ones who are paying the older ones. Then of course that reaches a ceiling and everything goes boom.

What you're describing sounds a lot like a Ponzi scheme to me. I guess people who get out on time will make a killing, all the rest are going to lose.

Which one is the best faucet group? I joined one of them,  ie, faucethub, according to my calculations I may check just a bit bitcoins in next 2 months. I think this is a long time. Isn't there a better one?

Yes, investing money to the bank is of course a solution, but I do not want to spend money for such a strange investment. Faucet clubs seem a good alternative. I understand that mining is not suitable for a laptop, ahaha.

BullwinkleBux has almost doubled in value over the past two weeks.
(Imagine a graph that goes way up.)

The beauty of BullwinkleBux is that it works on the honor system.
$10 USD gets you 1000 BullwinkleBux. Save them. Trade them. Use them.
I don't care.

Purchase them through PayPal and you get an Email conformation.
BullwinkleBux are yours alone.

When you spend them, you deduct the BullwinkleBux from your tally and the recipient
adds them to their tally.

Simple and completely anonymous.

BullwinkleBux,  accepted at Hooters across the country and all good liquor stores.
