Somebody is making stuff up but for what?

If it's not Russian government then it's probably FES the one who is making stuff up, right? I mean they (FES) say that earth is flat and not a globe, the sun does not travel at the speed of 12 miles per second. but instead it travels much, much slower, they also say that earth has a dome! I mean, if those guys (FES) know that the Russian government is telling the truth about the earth and how its shaped then why are they accusing everybody else of lying and making up lies as they go?

Is it because telling the truth feels like giving up control?
