Yes Deadsirius came up with the title but I also thought of it.  The subject of a merge has been broached once again.  What are the sticking points?  How can we resolve them?  What say you?

There is no option that I agree with in ur poll.

The two forums continue to exist. Having more than one forum isn't a big deal. Take the acronym out of the word filter.  If someone spams links (which hasn't happened since the split that I know of and I only saw Tom Bishop doing it), treat them like any other spammer.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

I think the nuance is that the forum didn't split in the first place.

This forum has had lots of technical difficulties over the years. The final straw for those on the other forum was when a few weeks of posts were temporarily lost during an upgrade (or server move, I don't really remember).  Once the posts were restored they didn't want to come back to this forum, they wanted this forum merged with their new one. I also think the real goal is to remove John Davis as tech admin and hand that job over to Parsifal.

Now, I think Parsifal is alright, but Daniel hasn't liked him for a long time. I think that is because the hairy taco convinced Daniel that Parsifal is the devil. And also because after Parsifal was demoted (he was a mod for awhile) his access to the mod forum was still active and he was able to read what was posted in there until he couldn't take it anymore and he revealed himself.

Also, there was a small group of us on IRC who plotted against the hairy taco. Our dastardly plan was to post "Roundy is the best mod" any chance we got. Oscar fed the hairy taco screen shots of the chat.

This is how I remember it. I'm sure I do not remember it all accurately. It has been several years now, anyway.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

Yeah, there's a lot in the ongoing thread on the merge that I don't quite get.  I wasn't around for all of that drama.

From my point of view, the other fes has a good number of interesting members there.  And I like the small size of this particular forum.  I'd just like it to be a little bigger.

I come in peace.

Seeing as these sites might be merging like mating worms in the future, I thought I might as well stage a raid to see what's up, say hi to those I know (The mighty Crouton, PP, Boots (bless)) and any others that grace our shores when this place falls to pieces.

I see Inti' has become a sticking point, and for that I feel partly responsible as he fell for my avatar and in his subsequent dissolution, he struck out as scorned lovers often do. Personally, I miss him, and I just know he will be made up to find me here.

As for integration, that would be great, wouldn't that be just great? I mean really great! It's not going to happen (at least not easily).

Ego's, poison in the well, bad blood and good old tribalism will see to that, but that is also why I am here, as a cultural exchange.

We may not be able to change what has happened between these damaged individuals, but we, the rank and file membership can bridge other gaps, make suggestions for slight changes, visit each other to build relationships, babysit and make cookies.

Here's a thought, the mighty Davis has lifted something, that stopped us doing something we weren't apparently ever doing, brilliant, so in reply we could say that should Inti' admit his behavior in trying to get Pars' beheaded by ISIS, was beyond the pale, he would consider a pardon should all things come to pass.
In the mean time come visit, forge bonds, show them that we want this to happen, just don't fall for my avatar or the immortal one may get jealous and have your head removed.

Well thank you, doom and gloom.
Admittedly reading the discussions betwixt the two factions is like watching the universe die, so our remit should be to build bridges and weave the two parties together, forget the past and forge a new future, one beautiful asylum where all the inmates play together.

Jroa! really?

Why merge?

John Davis could just appoint some humorless mods to patrol threads like the gestapo doing word counts and banning those that they feel are a threat.
Problem solved, this site will become just like the site that shall not be named.  Dull and boring.
No need for a merger.

How about a contest?
The first site that can explain sunsets without magic or altering the properties of light wins.
They then determine details of a merger.

Greetings Jura, I'm glad to see you here.

Intikam... Okay that whole threatening to murder a mod does sound bad but hear me out. What you all saw on your site was Intikam on a bender. We really brutalized him here prior to all of his death threats. I cannot stress how much we beat the hell out of him. After he was exiled from your site permanently and this site temporarily he was a broken man. When he returned here he wouldn't come out of the believers section. Only now is he starting to socialize again. Well as far as someone like Intikam can socialize anyways.

I'm not going to say that he's come to Jesus or anything but I would say that he's at least 60% less deranged now.

In my opinion the mods judged him when he was at his worst. I would say he's worth another chance.

As a result, I'm glad to see you here; although I don't like you and roundies like you. John is an adult person, not as others.despite all the bad jokes I've made about him, he waited with have patience, and if this is a test, he has passed the test. it is necessary from my point of view to be on the site that have an admin such a person. although he has ego, we can endure them for his good sides.

Other two are in my ignore list and I really don't care about what they think/write,...

Even so, nice to see you here. Don't go back that crazy place. These are nothing but like some childs.

It is the people who keep the institutions alive. In a basketball game, the strength of the team is equal to the quarterback. In an English football, you might be as good as your goalkeeper. A company becomes stronger or weaker in connection with the CEO's intelligence. a state can succeed to the extent of the president's ability. a religion can succeed in the rate of the prophet's intelligence.

It is not important to be bigger or smaller. That the whole point, the leader of the game is.

I'm not saying that "John is the best",  he is not. But compared to the similar sites and formations in such as twitter and facebook, I find his performance satisfying. Although he does not know the site design well, he is good at making leadership. As a result, john is not the leader of this movement, but he does his job well as leader of this site. This is leadership.

Merge: I do not think this is necessary. because, frankly, I decided that the managers of the other site are not much different than the managers of the other sites. First everyone has to understand: This is not a leadership of a website. This is a fight between true and evils. john is clearly staying one of the sides of this struggle. I do not see such a feature in others.

this is a multi-dimensional struggle: PR working, research, political struggle, media, internet media, radio programs,... etc. it does not matter whether you have a site or not. If you have a site, you can fool a few people, but this does not contribute to this movement. I am a solid part of this movement. John is a part of this movement too. There are a lot of friends here are part of this movement. we are here a whole family. Mother or father descriptions are not nice, but we can defind some of us as "notables" and family members. In this regard, the other ones like Junk, pars,... can only be a child in this family. Maybe in the future, illuminati may help them to be stronger than us. We don't know the future. supporting something weaker and bringing in power is something they do best. we can not know if they will do it or do not. But we know that; we are doing the true thing and this will be success in one way or another. my goal is to be successful on the right side with fighting right. not "at any cost".

If there is a price, but we will not pay it.

PS. 2 of 6 sections contain my name. I did not voted, this is a nonsence. This is a movement and it is not true consubstantiate it with some names.

I am doing my best to represent the interests of everyone on our forum. If you think I can do that better, I welcome your input in our thread on the subject.

Nope you are doing the best you can under the circumstances Pars’, but this is lounge talk where I function better, upper Fora is a bit stultifying, brings out my tourette’s especially if “Pete Tsar” starts listing things (damn, bloody bugger fuck) sorry.

What I would say to both sides is, if you want it to happen it can, if you are just going through the motions with your eye out for a windmill, you can tilt at (John?), so you can proclaim, “I tried, it was them”, grow up, save everybody from the reams of humourless faux diplomatic posturing and leave things be.
(reams of humourless faux diplomatic posturing! that only applies if you are not committed, okay, if you are, you are finely crafted wordsmiths at the top of your game.)

So, as official cultural attaché, I move that, as Inti’ was in meltdown due to sustained  harassment (as I suspected and Crouton has confirmed), that he be given another chance should miracles happen and the Morlocks join with the Eloi That would remove a major stumbling block making it one all.

Edit; Inti’ has appeared as I wrote this, Hi Inti’!
I just read what he put, and I totally agree, so that’s that settled.

Your account is deleted, but your aren't erased. Your posts are all still there with your name attached. I was a big supporter of you for a long time and was very patient, knowing that there was a communication barrier. Apparently, whatever was happening over here caused you to become angry, then you took out those frustrations on us. I asked you to tone it down a bit, but you wouldn't. I gave you a ton of chances (far more than anyone else I can think of), but you were apparently so angered that you could not be reasoned with. Anyway, you had a temporary ban applied, but then decided to do the whole thing with Parsifal, as well as make a rather distasteful avatar about me (again, even though I had been your biggest supporter over there besides Shifter). So, I upgraded that ban to permanent, and then deleted your account after you made an alt called "Steven McDonald" and continued the whole doxxing thing.

Having said that, I am willing to put all that behind us and start over. I don't know if you care or want to, nor can I speak for the others, but I am at least willing.
