If you want a satellite to have a circular orbit at 400 km altitude the velocity ideally should be 7668.55 m/s.
If due to a burn error it ends up at 7640 m/s the satellite goes into an elliptical orbit of perigee 300 km and apogee 400 km.
But, the satellite doesn't come crashing down. Before the satellite progress far, the speed would be adjusted with a very short burn.

I claim that when observing the real footage of the bumby rocket launches of the late fifties, the absense of advanced computer and remote control technologies they could never maintain the parameters required for a spot on satelite deployment.

Simply try to put it in your own words what happens when the rocket is aiming for the skies.....how they maintained the required velocity and altitude and how they fully controlled this precise and delicate process of meticulously implemented data from the ground !!!

They could not possibly adjust to the numbers you provided when you look at the wobbling, bumpy, shaky rocket footage of those days.

Incorrect! The combustion chamber is blocked from the vacuum by the choked flow through the throat of the nozzle.
