The rocket gases are however exerting pressure on the combustion chamber, on every side except the nozzle.  Due to conservation of momentum, the exiting gas will push on the rocket and move it away from the nozzle.

OK lets play your game.

What is the mass of a satellite, 500 kg?
http://www.daviddarling.info/encyclopedia/S/satellite_mass_categories.html

What is the speed of the satellite that is in orbit? 28,000 km/hr

What is the momentum of the satellite? Mass * Velocity

28,000 km/hr = 7,777.78 m/s

Momentum = 7,777.78 m/s * 500 kg = 3,888,890 kg * m /s

OK, show me how much "propellant is needed to change the direction of the satellite

And I have already explained that without friction, their can't be any movement.

The wheels have friction with the ground and thus creating slip and wheel turning and thus motion
Explain where the atmosphere comes into play in the video.

Before I do a whole lot of calculations for you, do you understand that satellites don't "change direction" in the gross manner I'm afraid you're thinking?  They make small orbital corrections that involve mostly accelerating to a higher orbit, but can sometimes decelerate to a lower orbit, or make minor adjustments to change orbital inclination.  As long as you understand that's the nature of actual orbital maneuvers I will grind out the numbers for you.

If you think there are satellites that are in east to west orbits that can just be changed direction so they are in west to east orbits then I'm not going to waste my time with you.

Back to sanity...

Please confirm you still think your following claim is a sane and logical statement, Mr the Rabbibot...

Cos I think it's the most mental thing anyone on this site has ever said.

Seems the rabbibot now states that even though gravity causes a downwards force it is not forcing things downwards...

Yup, that's what I said! gravity might be causing a downwards force on you, but it is not forcing you down.

Here's Lord Kelvin on gravity:

"I accept no theory of gravitation. Present science has no right to attempt to explain gravitation. We know nothing about it. We simply know nothing about it".

https://zapatopi.net/kelvin/quotes/

So you're in good company when you say "I don't know".

Of course, Kelvin was speaking of the Causes of gravity; the Effects are well recorded...

Except to the rabbibot, of course, who thinks that gravity causes a downwards force that somehow does not force things downwards.

That imaginary flat Earth friend in his head really did a job on him, dutchy...

Please help heal his pain.

Teach him to say: "I do not know and it does not matter that I don't"...

Maybe he was right at the time?
(Later things changed. We can't stop time.)

Or was he right?
If "we simply know nothing about it", is there any other way to discover, but to explore and try to explain?
If I don't understand it, it doesn't mean no one could.

We already know that there's no authority in science but facts and figures.
I don't have to fight about anything.

That's right Mr Dimwit Voodoo Priest!
Gravity causes a downwards force that might keep you on your chair, but if it forced things downwards you would be forced down through your and end in the "underworld".

Sit a block of steel on your head and "gravity causes a downwards force" onto your head, but it "does not force" that block of steel "downwards" through you head.

It's no wonder that you cannot understand how more than 2200 satellites can be orbiting  the earth, including this really really big one.

Still the super dense Mr Dimwit Voodoo Priest won't understand it,
but normal rational people might understand the difference between causing a downwards force and forcing things downwards.

Bye bye Mr Dimwit Voodoo Priest

Hi Rab,  here's a tip on how to piss off Papa Legba,  just ignore him,  never respond to trolls ever.   His particular psychosis requires feedback to validate his existence, it doesn't matter if the responses are  positive or negative.   By ignoring him you deprive him of that and he eventually goes away.

The exception to the rule is reverse trolling,  Markjo has developed that to a high art.  but it's not a technique for beginners.
