Jose, Maria, & Lee

I know some of you don't believe in satellites but I'm linking this anyway.  It's a very cool look at the current Atlantic storms.  The eye wall of Maria is impressive.  And, it's huge.   

This is from GOES-16.  You can zoom in & out and change time scales and loop speed.  Maria's current track look like it'll be similar to Jose.  I'm not likin' that very much.

It's a very cool website...that is if you believe in that stuff.

I work for a defense contractor. Our network gets ten to twenty thousand intrusion attempts a month...mostly from Chinese IPs.

Our firewall blocks quite a bit of incoming traffic. There are even a couple of threads here that I can't open at work because of the links in them.

Of course, if you think it would be so easy to bypass our firewall you're welcome you try. Don't be surprised if you get a visit from the US Defence Security Service & NCIS.

Parts of Puerto Rico are going to be without power for 4 months. I thought 3 days was bad!

I can't imagine how devastating that is going to be.

Maybe making people aware that Puerto Rico is part of the US (and also the US Virgin Islands) wouldn't be such a bad thing. Gotta give the slacktivists something to do! lol

yeah, I agree with you. I don't know if they will get that kind of help.

I asked my brother if they would send anyone from his company down there to get the electricity back on, and he didn't think so. It's so strange, they came from all over the US and even some from Canada to get Florida's lights back on.  I know it's more difficult because they are islands, but I hope they can get what they need. I saw they were collecting rain water to drink, and my heart kinda broke for them.

Can't even land a plane at the airport yet and there are few other ways to get supplies in. 

A mile of tarmac can be cleared in hours and military cargo planes don't need sophisticated ATC.
