Do you understand what "automated multi-platform malware attack and control systems" means dno? I don't mean to sound rude.

It's not a conspiracy theory that this is used on the american people.

Yes. It is automated, it works on many platforms, it attacks systems using malware and controls them. Not very surprising. What it's actually used for exactly and on whom you don't know.

All this information is coming from wikileaks.

I am not aware of any connection between wikileaks and any channel. 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12.

The problem is you've got a bunch of very technical data but menacing sounding data.  What you don't have is it's context though.  Which is a tricky thing because it requires a lot of research.  Instead what you've done is adapted it into your worldview without thinking critically.

I hate it when people do that.
Let's both try to do less of it in the future.

To be totally honest however, I think the context speaks for itself on this quote.

Quote
The CIA has developed automated multi-platform malware attack and control systems covering Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris, Linux and more, such as EDB's "HIVE" and the related "Cutthroat" and "Swindle" tools

Could you tell me what context that would be fine with you? Forgive me if I'm wrong but my impression was that this is the first time you've seen these leaks.

As DNO and Razor have pointed out, we have a cyber warfare division of the military.  This cyber warfare division develops tools to carry out - wait for it - cyber warfare.  Or here's a Simpson's clip that explains it more entertainingly.

So they have these tools.  Have they abused them, yes?  The public found out.  There was an uproar.  More checks and balanced were put into place to curb that abuse.  Eventually they'll abuse them again and there will be pressured to get it under control again.  This is pretty much how government has always operated.  Like a shitty car it's something we always have to put work into maintaining.

This thread is about how safe you are from prying eyes by using Tor.  I have yet to see you people address this issue.  The fact is that Tor is supposed to make your black market dealings secret, anonymous, and encrypted.  Yet, the government busts people who felt they were safe all the time.  Why is that?

Buy a new car. You owe it to yourselves. You've been saving up a long time and are a very rich country. You deserve a shiny new car.

It was only a few months ago that a guy went before a court for drug dealing/peado pics/something else "protected' by the Tor network.  The evidence was plain and simple, except that the government would not disclose how they broke through the smokescreen.  The judge let him go.

I think we can all agree that the government knows what you are doing online, even if they can't get a conviction because they can not disclose their methods.

First, the car I drive is only 16 years old. It's just barely getting broken in.

Second, a new car ceases to be a new car after the first day.

Truth. It will still be nicer than your old one long after it's no longer "new."

Easy way around the conviction are your terrorism laws. Or the old two bullets in the head suicide. Any whistleblower or governemt official that thinks tor will protect them are naive.

Neato. I found it interesting. Whether anyone else does, I don't know, but if I were to go venturing into the darknet world it would probably be with similar goals - to get a lay of the land and just see what kind of weird shit is out there on the fringes. Same reason I take a gander at 4chan and internet comment sections of webpages every once in a while.

If one insists on doing things on the darknet that he wants to be kept secret, he might consider using Tails.  At least you would not have to worry so much about leaving footprints on your computer.

You know 4×2 chan is on the regular nets right? You just need to enter the url because goolag won't display it.

Also welcome to the internet. It's not a safespace.

He said he's using a bootable usb, good info thanks.

I don't, but I guess that must have been the golden age of 8chan ;)

Anyway, I got myself a darknet-to-do-list:

1) Find an undercover cop and ask him some questions about his job & what he encounters, what his view on the darknet are, why he does such a job etc.

No intelligence asset will admit to being an intelligence asset online. Some who are fond of you may try and warn you off the darknet. Like Rayzor and jroa did for you.

Quote
2) Ask some cp-leechers about their morals and maybe confront them with some ethical issues, if one of them is willing to talk.

They will just assume you are an intelligence asset and leave. If you want to persue this converstion I would recommend /pony/ to find some real weirdos.

3) Find some politically extreme (preferably left) forum (that isn't a chan).

www.reddit.com
(Come on that was funny.)

Quote
4) If you have any ideas, please tell me

Dont trust anyone there.
