Hypocrisy in the Camp of PROLIFE?
« on: March 30, 2017, 11:55:18 AM »
I’ve wondered recently if it’s hypocritical that I know how many abortions a day but don’t know how many babies are put up for adoption.  I might know how many Planned Parenthood places are across the state, but I don’t know how many orphanages. I would like to think I am a voice of the unborn; but there is a foster kid that has a voice right now, and wants to be loved. I wonder if the local “church body” knows what it means to be a part of the solution.

The hypocrisy in the pro-life movement is that most of them don't give a shit about anything but the fetus. The same people who call themselves pro-life are the ones who vote for politicians who promise to cut social services for the poor. They oppose real sex education in favor of weird abstinence only propaganda. They oppose affordable healthcare for women.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

Ok, green light on expanding the social programs. Please go into detail. I really want to hear how the government needs to fix all the ills of society and the individual has no responsibility. What is the plan in detail? its a lot more complicated then those pesky politicians and better sex ed. There is a time coming when the government will do a lot more than even you imagined and we will let them. I was just looking at one aspect of hypocrisy, yes you stated another. what are you going to do though. Vote? Bitch about it on a forum without using your real name? The baby is the one who loses...

What baby? The one that is born into a life of poverty? Yes, that baby is the one who loses.

Money isn't everything until you are starving and cold.

Life is not about riches but we need to have enough to be able to be happy.
Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.

I would have a lot more sympathy for the pro life movement if they were actually pro life. If they spent more time trying to help the children already living instead of ignoring them. There are thousands and thousands of kids in foster care waiting to be adopted. Why aren't they of any concern to the pro fetus movement?

Tell me, what "individual responsibility" does a baby have to feed itself?

What is your detailed plan to reduce abortions? Is it to tell teenagers (girls really) that they are like chewed gum after they've had sex? Teenagers have been having sex since probably the dawn of humanity. Telling them not to, without explaining how babby is formed, hasn't ever worked.  Fact based sex education (maybe included in biology class) shouldn't be such a politically divisive subject. I think people have the idea that sex education is somehow pornographic, that it is encouraging them to be promiscuous - meanwhile 11 and 12 year old kids are watching porn on the internet.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Make women's healthcare accessible and affordable and the rates of abortion will continue to drop.

I agree with you. I would like to see during the sex ed class shown; along with a full labor and delivery, a third trimester abortion to the class so they understand what they are specifically getting themselves into this being such a controversial topic. And why not?

The individual responsibility I meant; at the level of when they are kids growing up and being taught decisions  have a natural consequence. and some have very serious consequences. Most kids today are not brought up with any understanding of responsibility other than to themselves. They are selfish bunch in the nicest sense. I know a baby needs food and wants it. The baby is the most wonderful smelly thing a person gets to cherish in this life. I think that is a miracle; the birth its awesome. And watching your child grow up is incredible.

I believe what we are doing it right now is having A Real conversation about Reality. Im glad we can; whether we agree or not we have to communicate it what makes us human.
But thanx for thinking about it. I think our political system is broken and its going to come down to people starting the conversation.  Hypocrisy the prolife point, you got it. and it is.   Make adoption free and the rates will drop!

Third trimester abortions are not something you choose to do. If you've kept the fetus for six months you want to give birth to it (99% of times). Showing the abortion of a case of severe fetus malformation would do nothing to educate them. Looks more like someone is trying to indoctrinate them through fear against all abortions by showing them the most extreme cases.

Do you understand that a third trimester abortion is a medical procedure performed because something has gone terribly wrong? Would you deny those life saving abortions to women?

I do agree about showing them childbirth. They should know what they could be getting themselves into.

From what I have seen in the media, pro-lifers do care more about the fetus than the born baby.
I have heard them say more about rights for fetuses than promoting care for new born children, with and without metal and physical problems.

I think people protesting next to abortion clinics make an already heart-wrenching decision even more terrible.

I honestly don't know all the horrors of the abortions. Its gutwrenching and hard to even imagine. I would like to make adoptions a lot less expensive, its in the neighborhood of 10-20k. And I totally agree what about all the kids that are in the world right now. I think the "Name only church" has failed. The Mega prosperity gospel preachers are winning.  Your best life now... But again keep the dialogue up, thanx.

The main problem that I see is that both sides demonize the other.

Prolifers: They think it's OK to murder babies!
Prochoicers: They are against women's rights/health!

Both sides tend to avoid addressing the actual arguments of the other, instead complaining about the most evil-sounding characterization of the opposing side.

This video gives a lot of insight into the current hyper-partisan political climate: " class="bbc_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Thought Germs (CGP Grey)

I'll stop short of that.
Who DESERVES to be 'happy'.

I don't have children.
I would love to own a Ferrari.
That would make me happy.

Nope, I'm a single man with no kids. I pay my spare money into taxes to support other people's babies.

Well, children are expensive. Guess what? Rubbers aren't.

I'm fucked out of my Ferrari because others fuck like animals.

'What about the children?'

"What about you not breading like rats?"
