Let's talk about scammers
« on: February 20, 2017, 10:42:59 PM »
I was going to ask if they took cash?

You win.

The funny thing is there are gullible people who will respond,  and then after they get ripped off, go to the police complaining that they didn't receive the counterfeit currency they paid for.

The scammers don't actually have to print anything.   Zero overhead.

They even ripped off the picture of the flask with blue liquid from here   http://arslanenginery.com/white-spirit-plant/

It's actually kerosene.

OK. You didn't hear this from me...

MetheleneChloride (DiChloroMethane) will get rid of the black ink on the face of a dollar bill. Soak it for a couple of hours.
(may need to scrub with a Q-tip to get rid of it all).

Don't worry about the back.

Print a $5 or $10 on the front.

Nobody looks at the back of a small note.

*** don't try this at home ***

That won't work over here. we have plastic notes,  that are supposed to be harder to forge,  and the notes are different sizes and colours.

But don't let me stop you,  I won't tell a soul .... oh crap.

I played with counterfeiting 30 years ago. Just for fun, no ill intent.
It's not a crime until you spend them. Up till then, it's art. (probably not true.)

I was working on some girls car at her home. Sent her back to my garage to gather some tool.
She got back and told me, "I grabbed a five out of the drawer and bought some cigarettes"

"OH, SHIT!", it was a two fifty. A $5 printed on the face only on cheap paper. Back side was blank.

Panic is not a strong enough word.

I was Technical Director of an electronics company,  and  one of the share holders (another director) complained we weren't making enough money,  so I colour photocopied a few fifty dollar notes, and took them to the next board meeting,  asking if this was what he had in mind.     Lucky he had a sense of humor.

He kept reminding me for years afterwards.

Indeed.

R.I.P to those that died and thoughts with their families.

I am glad no skyscrapers across the road collapsed at free-fall into their own footprint due to the fire ;D

That, it seems, is quite rare.

This was very much different than what happened 16 years ago, Regardless it will make for an interesting comparison.

Luckily the shopping center was closed,  but the 5 people on the plane,  4 american tourists and the pilot sadly died instantly.

Just for fun  I googled his email address.   And it's not only counterfeit currency he's selling,  it's a full service counterfeit operation,  I wonder if he has a drive-thru?

I'm betting the market for fake Syrian passports has taken a dive lately.   Not a big seller anymore.  :)

Typically when something happens for the first time, it has never happened before.

That would make it unique, not rare  :P

I'm gonna split the conversation off of this topic, and get rid of the spammer. Normally I'd just send the whole thread to quarantine, but you've had a nice talk about it! I'm not sure what to name the new thread or where to put it. I WILL FIGURE IT OUT.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

I just chose a topic title quickly, think up a new name or something (it doesn't matter) and I will change it if you want.

Also, Rayzor, if you don't mind editing your post and getting rid of the scammers contact info. I can do it, but if you're here you can do it. OK?

My niece went to Cuba about three years ago. School related.
(She and her two friends bent the rules.)

She smuggled back some cigars. Top of the line Cuban.

Crap compared to Honduran.
