The DE model answers this simply. Space is not as simple as RET supposes; it can stretch and thin, and link locations in ways you would not think of as conventional. Much of the time it is as ordinary as you believe, but at the equator there is a thin connection through the inside of the Earth itself. You can walk endlessly in one direction and you'll only keep crossing the point you started at.
The full explanation is linked in my sig, this is just a brief overview.
I do believe that you mean to say that
JRoweSkeptic claims, without evidence, that:
"The DE model answers this simply. Space is not as simple as RET supposes; it can stretch and thin, and link locations in ways you would not think of as conventional."
And you mean "Globe Earth Theory", not RET because you DUT and ordinary FET has a "round earth".
Now, one help in finding the shape of an object is to measure its dimensions and since around 200 BC, the earth's dimensions have measured in various ways.
These dimensions can be found from:
At the equator each degree of longitude is very close to 111 km (accurate value "One degree of longitude = 111.32 km")
So the circumference at the equator is
360 x 111.32 km or 40,075 km.The distance from either pole to the equator is almost exactly
10,000 km - the definition of the metre.
I believe that you would have a fight with all long distance navigators if you disagreed with these figures. Now if the distance from either pole to the equator on JRoweSkeptic's "dual earth" is 10,000 km,
so the distance around the equator must be
2 x π x 10,000 or 62,832 km.So the distance around the equator on JRoweSkeptic's "dual earth" is about
1.568 times to large to match the real earth. Any proposed model for the earth must match what we observe, so in my opinion that completely kills your model.
