I think that it's more like "nominated by a Trump staffer" because I seriously doubt that Trump's attention span is long enough to pick more than a few at a time.

We all know that Trump is a knucklehead and does not really govern himself. But this is a far right administration completely in charge of corporate interests, so that does not make much difference.

People do not care if their country is taken over by crazy judges, don't care for corruption and the total sell-out of their country to the oligarchs or cops who kill people for fun or poisoned rivers or having the infra-structure of a third world country. People are like: "oh my God, he kneels for the anthem!"

People only care about their own side "winning". They don't care if the world burns in the process.
