I always wonder why globers treat history in such an ackward fashion.
Really, you might find that the shoe is on the other foot!
If certain Jews believed our earth was flat, it accounts for an ancient Sage, but ''Eratosthenes'' is surely a historical figure and a cornerstone for ancient research+facts of the globe.
Aristotle, Eratosthenes, Aristarchus of Samos are certainly historical figures, but we do not
rely on their evidence. The "Heliocentric Globe theory" is a continuous progression from that time right up till the present day.
It is a reckless attempt to cherry pick between history and fantasy from the past to validate their ''globe''.
''Jesus Christ'' is under all sorts of scrunity tests lately and ''Eratosthenes'' is Exhibit A for historical ''spherical earth'' awareness.
Where's this "cherry picking".
There is simply no connection or competition between
Jesus Christ and the shape of the earth.
The vast majority of Christians have no doubts that the earth is a Globe, nor that
Jesus Christ is a historical figure and the
Son of God.
It's only a minority, such as yourself, that choose to make that link.

supported the Globe Earth, though the shape of the earth was never a "matter of faith".
