The explanation however, is that the curve is due to the spiral of the arm:


But notice how the Sun is not even visible in the diagram and the stars are much bigger than the sun, NOT TO MENTION that GIANT BRIGHT CENTER of the Milky Way that should somehow be visible in the night sky.

This is not consistent with stars all appear to be small and the same size with the Sun and Moon being much larger (and ironically the same exact size).

Look, you're wrong bro. You obvious haven't studied the Bible. All the ancient civilizations including the Hebrews, ancient Greeks, Persians, Egyptians believed the Sky was a Solid Dome and the Earth is Flat.

And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the Panorama of the Milky Way and see it is not consistent with the Globe model.

I have read the entire Bible And i am a Christian, but I read the hcsb version, and it used "sky" instead of firmament, because that's what the Hebrew world literally translated to.

What part of "in the midst of the waters" do you not understand?

You can't create something "in the midst" of water to "separate water above from water below" without there actually being water above.

Saying the "water above" is clouds would not actually put the "water above" the sky now would it? It would be inside it.

That depends on what you define as the sky. Genesis said that birds flew through the firmament, so the sky is around the height that birds fly. It is certainly an arbitrary definition, which is why you cannot claim it is a tangible object like a sky dome.

The word 'solid' or anything remotely connected to solid appears to be lacking in your quote....

Your do understand what a panorama is right?  When I look up at the Milky Way (the local part of the spiral that we're seeing anyway), it is pretty much straight across the sky.  It's consistent with the globe model.

Actually clouds are IN the firmament. What was above was a canopy of water (presumedly ice since its cold up there) that pressurized the atmosphere and came down during the flood. So in a since there was a dome but its not what the flat earthers think.

The firmament can include space as well. After all God did called the firmament heaven.

The sun would be tiny in that picture. Also we are in a position where we wouldn't see the massive center anyway.

The sun and moon are a whole lot closer than the stars.

Let's just say" the Bible was not meant to explain the geology of earth"  and leave it at that.

Add the fact that NEVER has two arms of the Milky Way been photographed, observed or noted EVER. Not by airplane, observatory, satellite, spaceship, NOTHING.

We are located in between two arms, there should be two arms visible SOMEWHERE.

Also, the proportions on the length of the Milky Way Panorama is WAY OFF from the diagram of the Milky Way Galaxy which shows the Sun to be smaller than the stars. The length of the arm should never appear curved and should almost appear nearly straight at all angles.

Your do understand what a panorama is right?  When I look up at the Milky Way (the local part of the spiral that we're seeing anyway), it is pretty much straight across the sky.  It's consistent with the globe model.

I can see the Milky Way on a clear night, every night at midnight, and the obvious curve led me to create this thread.

Other people notice the curve too which is why i am not the first one to bring it up on the internet.

They figured out the galaxies shape by plotting the distances of thousands of stars all around us. And measuring the density of stars to angular space taken up to come up with the shape and approximate location of the solar system in the milky way.

Also, we can look at similar galaxies (Andromeda, pinwheel,etc) and the shape of the estimated milky way matches with them, which is further evidence of its shape.

Like I already said, it's obvious none of you have read or studied the Bible fully.

This was written by King David AFTER Noah's Flood, so you can't say the Firmament was destroyed in the flood.

Other translations use "Praise Him, highest heavens" which cannot be the clouds which are definitely not in the "highest heavens" or "heavens of heavens".
