He is saying that God created the heavens and the earth. You do need to keep in mind that the Bible is the Word of God, but it is also NOT a science textbook and extensively uses metaphors to explain complex concepts. Just as we today still use the phrase 'four corners of the earth' we do not belive the earth is a rectangle.

After WW2 and before NASA, Von Braun worked for US Army. NASA was established 1958.

"the Earth is in the center of the Heavens, and all on Earth tend to that center, compressing into sphere".
Towards center is "below" and away from center is "above".

So, firmament is spherical arounf Earth.

And we know (except all sorts of Moon Landing Deniers) it is not solid, so ionosphere can be the firmament.

Speaking of "waters from above", firmament can also be the area where clouds are forming.

Makes us think that writers of Genesis, before it was incorporated into Bible,
didn't know how high are clouds and what is above them.

But I avoid considering ancient people ignorants, because lot of times they knew what we didn't expected them to know.
We thought Newton and Leibnitz were first to invent calculus, and then discover that ancient Babylonians tracked Jupiter using calculus.

Who knows how much of old knowledge burned in library in Alexandria,
and what else was destroyed later as "forbidden knowledge"...

Something for sure.  But it's hard to say.  Obviously it has to do with the truth of the flat earth.  It must be very important.

I'd recommend setting up shop at Arlington National Cemetary.  A lot of dead astronauts are burried there.  Just go astronaut by astronaut and look for clues.  The clues may not be as easy as a grave stone.  You might need to dig deeper litterally(note the correct use of literally).

Now I know what you're thinking,"isn't this graverobbing".  Technically yes.  But as we've already established there was a reference to some book of poetry on von bronns grave so I think it's fair to say that all the astronauts would want you to rob there graves.

Now to be fair there is a non zero possibility that his family had psalms put on his tomb because they're religious and the verse brought great peace to them.
