benevolent dictatorship....though that is a fairytale. Even if it were possible for a very short time, never sustainable.
Maybe a true republic after that..
Intikam..I guess we will find out how well socialism works in america lol...though Detroit is an example of socialism in america, and we see how that turned out.
A benevolent dictatorship followed by a republic is awfully similar to comunism, though comunism wants to create an utopic anarchy after the dictatorship rather than a republic. We all know too well that the reality of this path is exactly what you fear, that the benevolent dictator that was to lead the country to a better place and step aside becomes enamored with power and latches themself onto the seat. It happened in Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba and every other country the comunist party reached the power.
In the end, what is good for someone will not be for someone else. Societies never stop changing and evolving, and trying to find out how to govern them is a problem. In times of need maybe a dictator can act faster than the slow machine of democracy, while places with strong beliefs prefer a religious government over a secular one. I prefer a government that warrants freedom to its people, that gives them a good education and provides health care to them, that makes sure poor families and individuals can survive and have a place to live. I also want to be able to earn and spend my money, and to choose who I want to be my representative. I want my government to make my country and its society better every day. I want a country where I can walk on the streets without fear of being assaulted, where noone hates others based on their looks or their love life or where and how they were born.
Now, which government can give me that? A socialist one, maybe? But they use to be lacking in the economic sense. A dictatorship lacks freedom. If the government is capitalist, education and healthcare will have to be paid by me, and poor individuals won't be cared of. A religious government obviously would prefer its society to share the same religion, and those who don't would be looked down, and liberties would be scissored.
