Maybe Bannon sees that the writing is on the wall for Trump, and wants to create space for his alt-right movement to throw Trump under the bus.

Bannon can never disassociate himself from Trump at this point. If Trump goes down, so goes Bannon. Trump was Bannon's poster child candidate. Though I'm not sure Bannon's reputation can sink much further after the Moore debacle.

And now they're trying to block the publication of this book.  Just what the hell is in this book that they think they can't shout "fake news"?  If it weren't for Trump losing his mind over this I'd almost assume it's just salacious nonsense.

Here was a man singularly focused on his own needs for instant gratification, be that a hamburger, a segment on Fox & Friends or an Oval Office photo opp. "I want a win. I want a win. Where's my win?" he would regularly declaim. He was, in words used by almost every member of the senior staff on repeated occasions, "like a child." A chronic naysayer, Trump himself stoked constant discord with his daily after-dinner phone calls to his billionaire friends about the disloyalty and incompetence around him. His billionaire friends then shared this with their billionaire friends, creating the endless leaks which the president so furiously railed against.

Just read the entire article though. It would be comedy gold if this fuckwit wasn't nominally in charge of the country's safety and prosperity.
