He was loaned a few million, now worth billions. That certainly isn't "every project went bankrupt"..
There are some deals I can list that did him very very well, and actually showed very good business sense.
Trump, in the investor world would be called a home run hitter, he is always going for the moon. Where someone like Cuban plays it safe and steadily increases. Trump increases in large lumps.
However, home run hitters, some years they can't be stopped, other years they lead the league in strikeouts. So yes, some things went belly up while other things exploded. He was also one of the few that saw a market in new York that others didn't.
However, any serious investor rather they play it safe or shoot for the moon will have bad deals...just the way it is.
