Me,  I don't like any of them, I vote independent.  At the moment they actually hold the balance of power anyway.

For our American Friends,  the Liberal party in Australia is the conservative party.  Although there are some that identify as "small l liberal".

The whole point is that the people who can afford it are the ones that primarily finance healthcare and research mainly through taxes. There are many countries with universal healthcare that also excel in medical research.

For a few days, I was worried that our president had actually matured.  Thank god he got back on twitter and showed he is just as childish as ever. 

I'll never understand the stance of "show respect or else!" Respect must be earned continually. This ignores the fact that commenting on something like this is way below the office of the president.

For anyone not up to speed on American politics, Trump has criticized the NFL players for not standing during the anthem. He has called them sons of bitches, called on the commissioner and owners to fire any players who don't stand.

Sort of...indirectly.  Technically he was putting those words into the mouth of a hypothetical NFL coach that Trump envisions firing these players.  Trump said something like "Wouldn't it be nice if one of these coaches said, 'get that son of a bitch off the field, he's fired!'"

I know, it's splitting hairs.  Personally I was disappointed with all these players kneeling/not coming on the field.  Not to say that Trump didn't deserve the pushback from the players, but I just think the flag and the National Anthem should not be dragged into the hashtag "resistance" tantrums.

Of course I am not arguing against their right to do so--I just think it's in poor taste and is the wrong avenue for the message.

Anyway, Titans had a great game, so that's something

In Trump's defense, and this isn't much of a defense, this was said during one of his off the cuff, unscripted rallies.  He usually says a lot of deranged nonsense in them.  It's less serious than his Rocket Man speech to the leaders of the world.  That was scripted.
