So I watched the SpaceX launch....
« on: June 15, 2016, 02:16:09 PM »
So I watched the SpaceX launch today and several thoughts crawled through the cobwebs. Flat earth would have us believe that those 2 companies that paid millions of dollars to build and launch their satellites into orbit are in on the hoax? They paid all that money to continue fooling all of us while they really built ground based communications that do the real work and not the fake boxes they had pretend launched into orbit? And SpaceX puts on these live webcasts to trick us into thinking they are putting things in orbit but are really using cgi to fake it?

I'm just really confused on the why.

And all of the many (highly intelligent and educated) people who designed and built the various rockets and such for SpaceX either failed to realize that what they were trying to do was impossible and could not work or elected not to say anything about it for some reason.  To anyone.  Ever.  And the same goes for the many thousands of people working for other space agencies.  Not one of them wanted to cash in on the enormous secret they're sitting on.  That's so counter to basic human nature it's, well, unbelievable.

Only a small number need to know anything, you can order a rocket engine without anyone needed to know how it will be used, same goes for all!the other parts, even the engineers designing parts just need to know how to make it not break.
The people in the control room who high five, whoop and holler have to be in on it, the head engineer, the guy who invented heat shielding, the astronauts, the techs working on the buoyancy lab ie swimming pool....when it's being used for spacewalks. The people who make videos of ships approaching the ISS, which don't seem to give a wide view of said station.

The lower engineers probably have questions which are dismissed or try are too afraid of social or financial consequences for asking questions

Maybe,
But literally millions would be affected in various ways if the earth were flat and not a globe.

For a start the distances between all places on earth, except right at the North Pole would change.
Some changes would not be drastic, but still quite measurable.
Other distances would change very greatly. For example, East West distances in Australia would more than double.
Are you seriously suggesting that we would not know that?
No, as has been known for a couple of millennia, the earth is a Globe!

You need to know quite a bit to design even an internal combustion engine, let a lone a rocket engine.  I doubt anyone on this forum could, given the tools, build a working car engine.  Let alone a rocket.  If you are designing something meant to travel interplanetary distances, you have an idea of the math involved.  You have to use the math to inform your design.  And you see the tests of your devices.  And you see the results.  Are you suggesting everyone involved in designing and building these fake rockets is a conspirator, along with the people directing them?

I'm just really confused on the why.
You are supposed to be confused because Mr.SpaceY does not want you to know what they are doing.

I have no idea what SpaceY is doing but it may be an attempt to take photographs of the earth from a higher vantage point and peak over the perimeter.

:P ;D Those dastardly Space-Xers might even try to photograph earth and prove it a globe! And we can't have that! ;D :P

Oh wait, hasn't the Himawari Satellite alone already sent back over 48,000 photos proving that. So why all the fuss?

Of course it's a hoax. Do you think it's hard for the government to find someone wiling to lie for literally tons of money?

Oh good, you have knowledge of satellites. When does the government tell people they have put another satellite too close to their spy satellites. Before the launch, or after it flying too close to the gov't satellite?

The locations of satellites are already known and publicly available.  Only the purposes are unknown.  The International Telecommunications Union handles placement of satellites.

Spy satellites are generally in much lower orbits than communications satellites, so I doubt that the issue comes up very often.

Also, all rockets are government funded, even spacex ,their customer is the government.
They send people and supplies to the ISS.

First of all, SpaceX hasn't sent any people to the ISS yet.  They aren't expected to for about another year or so.

Secondly, SpaceX has a number of customers in the private sector as well.  In fact, most of their launches have been for the private sector.

For the US it is about an equal number of government and commercial satellites.

http://www.ucsusa.org/nuclear-weapons/space-weapons/satellite-database#.V2498rgrKUk

So not all satellites are government funded.

In the US there is no law preventing anyone from launching a rocket or putting a satellite in orbit.  It specifically states people can.  The only requirements is safety and getting approval for the orbit to help reduce the chance of hitting another satellite.
