Care to make a side bet on what in the post he going jump on?
That it's total bullshit written by a self-admitted shill?
'Power for glide'? Gliding is by definition unpowered, so whatever...
And gravity does not count as 'power' btw!
Back to this:
Now; seems the only reference to the Buran being in Sydney that I can find is of the OK-GLI jet-powered testbed version being a static exhibition in the year 2000, well after it was retired...
It was bought by an Australian company called Buran Space Corporation, owned by Australian 'astronaut' Paul Scully-Power, allegedly.
Apparently this 'testbed version' could both take off & land under its own power, which came from four jet engines (two of which were rather conveniently in the same position as the 'orbital manouevering system' rocket engines), and was entirely subsonic in all its test flights...
So; a subsonic, jet-powered 'space shuttle'; exactly what I have been claiming.
Sadly, 'SkepticMike' seems to be unavailable for further explanation of exactly what he saw & did in connection with this jet-powered subsonic 'space shuttle'; perhaps he is friends with 'Paul Scully-Power' (lol made-up name!) or something?
Them darn Time Zones again, I bet!
Funny how you ask me to share my knowledge but are so reluctant to share your own, hmm?
Toodle-pip, Hoarders of Shpayze-Wisdom!
BINGO I knew you'd climb all over that power/glide/pitch/speed statement. I could have bet the farm on it. And I could have doubled down on the fact that your response would prove you never bothered to Google/being the facts about it.
As I said, you are one dimensional and far too predictable.
You trim for speed and rate of decent with power, (RPM) and flaps. You pic your spot on the runway as you turn to final. If the spot stays in place relative to you, let the aircraft fly to spot and flair for the landing.
If the spot seems to scoot away from you, that says you're too low. If your airspeed is correct, you add more RPM (power). But if your airspeed is fast, pitch the noes up. if it is too slow pitch it down. If you are too high, power out, (reduce the RPM, power). Glide controlled by power, speed by pitch.
BTW its is how you control your curse speed too. You set your power for altitude then trim the pitch for speed. Power/glide/altitude and pitch for air speed.
Had you bothered to do just a little research before your SOP Knee Jerk posting you would not now be shown to be fool you are. And the best thing... You did it to yourself.
