According to heliocentrists, the Earth is rotating, and the deeper you go the faster you are spinning, which makes logical sence at first; the core rotates faster because it is smaller and must rotate faster in order to match the speed of the Earth's crust.
However, this would also mean the uppper layers of the atmosphere are rotating faster than lower layers, creating eastward winds that would be highly noticeable. Any rising object would be blown eastwards as it ascends, and the atmosphere picks up its speed. And yet, we see nothing of the sort.
