If you're into experiments, try getting a directional microphone & pointing it at the fake ISS when it flies over.
Bet you pick up engine noise...
Cos it's just an airplane with a spotlight/projector stuck to it.
What your looking at is a base CGI rendering of the earth with a poorly done atmosphere layer on top. From the ground the ISS is a Jet to 'see' from 'space' it's a fake CGI script.
Probably based on accumulated weather radar data so it's roughly accurate.
They got that shit down pretty solid now.
But moving clouds in real-time is beyond em still.
