Just a random thought on flat earth
« on: March 30, 2017, 07:32:22 PM »
Just popped in my head...

Everyone in the flat earth community seems to agree the flat earth is stationary.. Even UA, the pancake is only moving upwards..

Why is this? Why can it not be spinning? Or even some cattywampus movement?

This could help out with many issues in the model as well. Sun and moon placement issues, different constellations etc etc.

Just a thought..

Carry on.

According to the likes of Physical Observer we would feel the motion (which has been exhaustively explained on here why we do not). So if earth isn't spinning, it must be everything else above us that is.

Two words: centrifugal force.

Next question.

It could be slightly concave?

Next question.

Not so much if it was some sort of cattywampus movement instead of just spinning like a spin top.

Plus, get creative markjo, don't be nervous. Gravity would have to come from a different catalyst on a flat earth than a round earth. So perhaps whatever catalyst causes "gravity" would negate any centrifugal force created by said movement.

Not to mention, how much centrifugal Force could a Merry go round create with 1 revolution in 24 hours lol...Better hold on to your pants.

Crutonius!!! I haven't seen you post in a thread I have been in for a while.. Guess you don't want to visit in the thunder dome I have been spending most of my time in here recently.

You said you would call!!! You said you were different!!!

We've nearly crossed paths a few times.  By thunderdome I assume you mean the 911 thread.  I'd join in but I'd have to study the nist report.  And that is a lot of homework.

You said you would call!!! You said you were different!!!

That reminds me of this great idea how to deal with the problem of calling a girl after I've slept with her for the first time.  Not useful for me now since I'm married but maybe other people can get some use out of this.  Instead of an awkward phone call where you're all like "duhhh I really like the last 5 seconds hehe", have a cake made for her instead saying something romantic on it like "congratulations on successful sexual intercourse!" on it.  This plan does require an open minded baker.

If a girl made me that cake, I would marry her.

I think you got schooled there markjo.

From what I understand of Jrowes model he believes the twin disks are rotating opposite to each other.
Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.

I'm unclear how this would help any of the flat earth models?

That would be a problem for the observed movement of the stars.

Plus, get creative markjo, don't be nervous. Gravity would have to come from a different catalyst on a flat earth than a round earth. So perhaps whatever catalyst causes "gravity" would negate any centrifugal force created by said movement.
Would that not negate centrifugal force everywhere else too?

Not to mention, how much centrifugal Force could a Merry go round create with 1 revolution in 24 hours lol...Better hold on to your pants.
That would depend on where you are relative to the center(ish) of rotation.
