What are you talking about? It snowed two weeks ago.... which was strange... because it's only ever snowed 3 times in my lifetime, and it was the end of spring :o

Maybe it's just the first time that it's snowing at (49°11'N, 123°57'W).  I know that today is the first time this season it's snowed in Vancouver, which is not far from (49°11'N, 123°57'W).

It snowed, like, once back in mid October here in Cheyenne.

Sheesh.  That's why I couldn't live in Arizona.  I much prefer the cold over heat.  In cold weather you can always put on more clothes to stay warm, but in hot weather, there's a limit to how much you can take off to stay cool.

I'm originally from the Santa Fe, New Mexico, high up in the Rockies.  I put up with the snow for 18 years, and they can keep it.  Give me 115 degrees any day.

You're quite right. Farenheit is a stupid scale. It was 303 degrees.

Well it was a very comfortable 291 today.  We're expecting it to stay around the 290 degree mark all week, although Wednesday is predicted to be 297.  I think around the 300 mark is already slightly too hot for me, but they're predicting the hottest summer on record so we can probably expect a lot of days over that and I live in the Southern most capital City in Australia.

I've seen it used a few times, but I think even Rankine never used it.

Man, so many people have been indoctrinated in this ridiculous "it's easier to warm up than it is to cool off" mantra.  Every house I've ever lived in has been too cold, even with windows closed and the heat all the way up.  No amount of bundling up has ever made me perfectly cozy.  In the summer, however, I have the freedom to submerge myself in a lake or take a cold shower.  Even going into the shade in the summer makes a huge difference. Not to mention that anyplace I go indoors has the air conditioner operating at full blast which does an excellent job of making me undesirably chilly.

Sure, if the only method you can think of for cooling off is disrobing, then Darwinians everywhere agree that you deserve heat stroke.  Have you considered putting on the right clothes?  Try thin, natural fabrics that breathe well.  Put on a non-insulating hat: keeping the sun off your head works wonders.  Drink lots of water: it turns out that your body knows how to cool you off, but it needs water to do it.  Your body can warm itself through exercise, or it can keep your core temperature stable by peripherical vasoconstriction.... mmm, don't you just love that feeling that your fingers are about to fall off?
