Dual Earth Q&A
« on: December 17, 2015, 10:42:49 AM »
Let's try one of these threads again. Please read this first post.

This is not a thread for debate: just simple question and answer. If it makes you happy, treat DET as a hypothetical system only. The model is linked to in my sig. Read. If there is a part you don't understand, post your question here, and why you don't understand what's said. If there is an observation you think goes unexplained, post it here, and say why you don't think it can be reconciled with DET.

I will not reply with 'read the model' unless you indicate you have not, which I will determine by if you ask something explicitly addressed with no mention of why the explanation did not satisfy you.

Please don't troll and derail this thread as has happened almost every time I've tried to run one of these. Question and answer only, don't drag this into a debate. Don't make more than one post in the same point: I want this to be easy to jump into for anyone else who has questions, rather than it getting dragged onto being about one specific grievance. if you really don't understand an answer, or think DET does fail even after a post here, start your own thread. I want this one to actually be readable.

Please try to abide by this. I'll ask a mod to lock the thread again if this turns into another mess. If you don't think you can keep yourself under control, don't post here.

Otherwise, please let me know: what part of DET do you not understand, and what do you believe goes unexplained?

On September 21st from 11:59 to 12:01 the Sun is going from 1 side of the disk ("southern hemisphere") to the other side ("northern hemisphere") and respectively the other way around on March 21st. The daily E-W movement of the Sun has been omitted; just the seasonal variation, not the daily one.

Yet on both days the Sun is at that same moment visible from both sides of the disk as a circle (the 2D slice of the spherical Sun - which must be a sphere in any model because it has to look like a circle from wherever you are on Earth).

How is this possible?

I much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single intelligent man to the thoughtless approval of the masses - Johannes Kepler (1571-1630)

Has anyone teleported from the equator to the Starship Enterprise?

It's no slur if it's fact.

This clearly is pointless. I thought REers claimed to be bastions of science?

Can a mod lock this thread? It's a waste of time trying to have any actual discussion with REers.
