why are these round earth people here?

i noticed there are actual dedicated round earth believers here and loads of them. I mean if they think this is a joke why are they even here wasting their time? they should be at the nasa forum or astronomy forum discussing about stars and space travel.    The only people that should be here are flat earth believers and skeptics of flats asking questions. just my opinion, i am pretty new here so this is just my thought.

They come here to feel arrogant, no matter how justified it is. they think FET can be refuted after just one or two lines of stock arguments, despite the fact it's all been dealt with hundreds of times before. Then they get mad and start mocking and insulting and poking fun and wasting time, all with a complete lack of any substance. Were any actually interested in FET, you'd see them actually learning models rather than focusing on the simplest possible iterations and bastardizing even that. Even the handful that try to spend time on more advanced FE models rarely do anything beyond waste time.

They come here for their egos: and get so defensive whenever they're proven wrong that they lie, and lie, and lie. Why do trolls come to any site? Same answer: to waste time.

We're actually here (Including mysel) not to feel arrogant, but to help you. I'm only here to help you guys accept the earth isn't flat. That stuff was like 16th century crap. We're in 2015, and it's time to wake up.

I don't understand though, and I don't see how that can be true. If you're just as intelligent as a round earther, you would know a lot about the subject. If you know a lot about the subject, you'd be able to connect the dots and realized the earth is round?

My first mission was to here the other side, be open minded about it. The more I come the more my mission changes to where now I'm here to stem the tide of flat earthers.

Lets all be honest. All none Flat Earthers are here because they like to argue. We are procrastinating from real world stuff and enjoy arguing.
We know the flat earth movement will never become a thing and there is zero actual threat to science from this forum.
This place is entertainment, thats all.

There might be some people here believing the earth is flat and think they are making a difference. But If you are here, you are not making a difference one way or the other, you need to get out into the real world to make a difference. Do experiments, uncovering truths ext, ext.

The purpose of a convergent/divergent nozzle is to accelerate the gases, NOT to make them do work in a vacuum.
NOTHING can make them do that, because it is Impossible.

Sure,  you Flat Earthers always give civil answers, I don't think.
It is almost impossible to get any sensible answer from some.  Even when asked a direct question, the only response is so often just insults and invective. 

Do you wonder that Globe Earth supporters get a bit frustrated when trying to get a clear answer to a direct question.

In the past, REers who frequented the site admitted their discomfort that FET may once again become the standard Earth shape norm. They argue their beliefs here to try suppressing the inevitable force of FET momentum.

The force is with us...so they must still return defending their beliefs.

They aren't a threat to science. That's pretty obvious among REs. however they do make the truth movement (of which I'm a part of) look silly.

I'm here because Im an idiot who likes endlessly arguing idiotic stuff as a hobby. And, who knows? Maybe some day some science will come from this forum.

You'll find me arguing against any argument that looks to be incorrect.

I see 4 classes of people here, from least to most sharp:

1 - Flat (or any other non-spherical shape) Earth proponents, NASA believers
2 - Flat (or any other non-spherical shape) Earth proponents, NASA skeptics
3 - Spherical Earth proponents, NASA believers - the majority it seems
4 - Spherical Earth proponents, NASA skeptics

I'm not here to win an argument.
I'm not here to feel arrogant. (It's true that I would be very happy if people admire my intelligence. But that's not my motivation to be here. Example: if some people give me loads of money for my research that would be very exciting, but that's not my motivation to do research in the first place.)

I'm here to re-examine what I've learned and improve my reasoning skills as well as my understanding of our progress in science. I think re-examine what you learn is important because even if your knowledge is correct, your logic might not be. For example, when I was a kid my parents told me not to lie because the police would grab me away if I lie. Maybe the lesson of "not lying" is on some level correct but when you re-examine it, you should realize that the reason behind it (not being grabbed by the police) might not be .

Logic is the best weapon we have.
