What would convince you the world was round?

Hi everyone. I would love to hear what facts or proofs would cause you to realise that the world is round. How could it be proven to you? I suspect nothing will.

Lets just imagine for a moment that it IS round. Would you ever believe it?

What if you went on a civilian near-space flight and saw the curvature of the earth? What if you learnt physics and joined a rocket development team?

Also, i would like to be posed problems with the round earth model that i could refute.

This is something a believer of a deity or leprechauns/ghosts/fairies would say about their belief. All words and not evidence.

HI, bit new here and still trying to get my head around all the facts. I don’t like just theory and strive to understand, but looking to be convinced, which means I got lots of questions…If the earth was a globe/ball with the dimensions they suggest how the hell did they build the Suez Canal?? It’s 102 miles long, joins the red sea to the med, a man made cut of 26ft depth and has NO LOCKS (means it's FLAT!). This should have 1.2Miles of curvature allowance but it’s completely flat on the earths surface for 102 miles?? How?? If it was flat/horizontal for 102 miles the center of this should be in 1.2 mile deep gully cut through the ball, how does this work on a ball?? Anyone explain??  (Mods, if this in the wrong place please move, not got around all the threads yet)

If there was concrete and logical proof that the Earth was a globe then I'd happily accept it.
The reality is that there is no logic in what is portrayed to us about this so called globe. It's reliant on fantasy science that is accepted due to the fact that mere mortals like ordinary people do not get a say in the matter.

All the globe theories are nonsense and should be so clear to most people how silly they are. Unfortunately, people love to adhere to fantasy, which is why they can tell you anything.

1. The golden meme ratio
2. The DNA code
3. The impossibility of the contrary

No need to wait an answer is not possible. There is no curve so the ball Earth theory is not valid. It is only an exercise in math and theory with no bases in physical fact.

2. Lunar phases.
3. Navigation techniques are based on a round Earth model, and work just fine.
4. Discrepancies in the amount of daylight at certain latitudes certain times of the year.
5. The existence of Antarctica.
6. Hobby weather balloons, and model rockets with cameras showing curvature.
7. Auroras.
8. Other planets, stars, galaxies, etc.
9. The differences in the way the stars look in the night sky in certain places on Earth.
10. The horizon.
11. Antarctica flights.
12. Circumnavigation by any means of transportation.
13. Lunar eclipses.
14. The shadow of Earth on the moon.
15. The ISS, which is easily observable with a plain telescope and a basic knowledge of astronomy.
16. The increased distance of the horizon as you move higher in altitude.
17. Satellites.
18. The Coriolis Effect.
19. The fact that we can observe planets behaving in the ways the laws of gravity predict.
20. The fact that Earth's gravity gets lower the higher you get.

Your method will work. And has been done. And it did show that it only takes about 26 000km to circumnavigate. (actually 17000km, but it has been done in 26 000km)
