Easiest experiment to proof earth is round
« on: December 12, 2015, 04:40:54 AM »
Go to the beach on a clear day.
Watch the sunset while laying on your belly.
As soon as the sun is completely below the horizon jump up real fast to watch another sunset.
The sun sets again below the horizon.

This is only possible when the sun sets below the horizon, not because the sun is too far away for you to see.

Even stronger; when you lay on your belly the perspective from down to up must result in seeing the sun longer if sun was a spotlight. While standing up, your eyes are a tiny bit more on the level of the spotlight-sun, making it more difficult to see instead of easier.

Q.E.D.

The earth is round.

You can see over more waves when you are standing than you can when you are lying down.

Just the fact that you see the whole disc of the sun sinking into the horizon, instead of it getting smaller and smaller till it gets out of sight is enough to prove its a globe to me. ...But then what do I know ?

Aether.

So because of the aether the sun reappears when the distance stays the same? Even better: when you stand up and then look, the sun is on FE a little bit further away from you.

So you're saying I can't see the sun when it's closer, but I can when it's further away?

Please explain.

But I do, it seems that you don't because you could also do this on one of the flattest planes on earth: salt lakes. No waves there for you to blame.

No, I asked if anyone has ever done it.  You plainly said that it can be done, and I am calling you out on your BS.  So, were you purposely lying, or simply embellishing on the truth in order to further your agenda?  Which is it?

Most salt lakes have mountains surrounding them so it will not be possible, you will be looking at the sun against the edge of a mountain range. Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt plain, and might be possible there.

I have seen a double sunset while flying.
Hold altitude at sunset then dive the plane, the sun goes down. Raise altitude back again and the sun comes up again until it eventually sets the second time.
Under the Perfect Spot Light Sun Hypothesis, this is not possible as the sun is always shining downwards, therefore the higher you go the quicker the sun will disappear.

With the same concept people have seen that the sun sets later from the top of tall buildings than it does on the ground.  At the Burj Khalifa you can watch the sun set on the ground, take the glass elevator to the top and watch it rise and then watch it set again at the top all in a matter of minutes.

Cause he's agitated that with the easiest of experiments you can debunk the flat earth within 2 minutes. Probably I'd be agitated too if I'd spend that majority of my time defending a theory that can be debunked so easily.

It may be that our theories may need some polish. If the Sun was outside the dome, the refracted light could cause this effect. No? I admit, my ideas are in their infancy, but i want to throw this out there.

Basically, the principle is the same.

Watch the sun set (however) then go up quickly (however) and watch it set a second time. Note - it does not need to be over water or even the horizon. It can be over a mountain toward the horizon (sharper edge and less atmosphere to go through) as well.

Whether on the beach (jumping up), in a plane (going up), using the Burj Khalifa building elevator (going up), or whatever - the concept is the same. The effect is not in question.

FE needs to explain it.
“If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.” W.C. Fields.
"The amount of energy necessary to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it."
"What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence."

This is going to go off topic.
But there are many alternatives for someone to say something that is not true. For example, they could be mistaken, miss-spoke, or told a truth that did not satisfy you; for what ever reason.
Accusing someone of lying should be something not taken too lightly. If you do take it lightly it says more about the accuser than the accused.

back on topic
Mr Moderator, do you have any rebuttal of the topic at hand considering the last statements?

Ball people show me the ball Earth curve. There is no physical proof of the ball Earth theory, none. No curve not a ball, not a ball you can not call the Earth a sphere. The Earth is and always has been a flat plane.
If the Earth is a ball why don't we fall off the bottom?

You can`t proof anything here.

Pictures? All fake
Movies? All fake
Documents? All fake
Scientists and millions of other people? All bought by the government
People? In fact reptilians from other planets.

That is how this site works.
You will never be able to proof something to such people. Tell a 2-year old that santa does not exist and he will not believe you...
