The question is loaded.  Everyone knows that Santa lives in Taiwan.  Where else can he get cheap labor?  Elves are just a metaphor for the little Asian kids in the sweatshops.

I don't know, I was very hung over in the morning and didn't get up until about 1 pm.  I would guess that it lasted for around 14 hours - but really that could be completely wrong.  I didn't actually go outside and see if there was any sun shining until 3:30 I think.

On mainland China.

I hear the People's Republic of China intends to ride the wave of popularity following the Beijing Olympics, into Taiwan.

Since most countries recognise the government of Taiwan to be the People's Republic of China, few could do anything about it.
