The Windows 10 Thread

I just got Windows 10, and I've been really liking it so far.

What are your thoughts on it?

I'm just waiting for plugins on Edge, for Adblock and BingtoGoogle for Cortana, and I'm set. No need for Chrome for Firefox.
(Wow, using IE for anything. Wow.)

Also, the JS on this site is so outdated, it doesn't work on Edge.

I love Windows 10, I've been using it ever since the tech preview came out. It's what Windows 8 should have been.

I feel that Windows 7 is becoming what XP once was up until... not that long ago, realistically: an unconditionally worshipped OS that was slow, clunky and inefficient compared to its successors which are better in almost literally every way, unless you have an extremely outdated system. I also think Vista received unnecessary amounts of hate.

While I'm far from encouraged by Truth Seeker's tone, there are some pretty dodgy privacy features in Windows 10, from what I've seen. Easy to turn off mind you.
Personally I'm waiting a little time to install it. I use public programs, like Cobian, and I'm waiting to hear about any issues and subsequent patches for the new OS before I start using it.

Yeah, disabled them right off the bat. I find myself not using the start menu and pinning everything to my taskbar out of habit.

Yeah, Microsoft does that a lot.  It helps keep you on the upgrade treadmill.

a. The "Illuminati" doesn't exist.
b. You can turn off snooper features.
c. The snooper features are only intended to help improve your experience, by collecting OS statistics.

Windows 10, are you shitting me? Why do you think they give it away for free??? Disable all the features you want, they are always 10 steps ahead, You guys sound like a microsoft infomercial, except The Truth Seeker of course!

Windows 10 is a data mining, tracking, Mongolian cluster orgy.
Windows 7 will be supported until 2020. I suggest you all stick with it.
Then go with open source. I hope it starts improving soon.
But hey, If you have an I phone, it really doesn't matter.

Take that microsoft stuff off your computer and burn the bridges. They admit they are spying on you and tracking everything you do. Do you wear a leash?

Just use Linux.  Problem solved. 

We live in the post-privacy era ... people don't mind beind spyed upon, they actively support it ...

It does actually have a positive effect on many, keeps us worried about our file to keep it relatively clean. Still, it does not make it right though and yes! Soulblood, most don't seem to care.

Incorrect.  Many are too oblivious to care, but some people do still like their privacy.
