I think it might be round
« on: June 15, 2015, 12:18:28 PM »
I am having doubts. My research has not been conclusive so far, and round earth is starting to actually make sense. Maybe I am just being overwhelmed by the mainstream brainwashing, or maybe I've been listening to the roundies on here too much. I am losing my faith.

Do any other believers suffer from this?

There is a difference between accepting and having an open mind.

I thought you were told by the Master (or whatever you called him) about the new worlds to be revealed on the plane?

If so, you are either crazy...or definitely right. Nothing anyone says here will change that. You are either correct or insane.

P.s. don't base your beliefs on faith. use facts. be willing to revise when more information becomes available.

You are either correct or insane.

That's a false dichotomy.  A few other possibilities include:

-She or he is lying.
-She or he is being coerced into saying these things.
-There was an elaborate rouse put into place by Itchy_Arris' "friends" that is making her or him believe that the earth is flat.

This is just what I came up with while typing.  The path to Flat-Earth Theory isn't as simple as, "taking the one less traveled."  It's a wondrous journey of learning and truth that can't be broken down into simple binary switches.

Yes ezpecially early on in this new belief. The brainwashing is not easy to discard.

The dichotomy was predicated on IF he had been told these things by the Master.  Because I said "If so,"

If Itchy is having fun, or lying, or being coerced etc. then the premise would be false and the two choices would not apply.

If Itchy actually believes that  he was told by the Master  about the revelation of the new lands in the infinite plane. I believe those are the only two likely possibilities...though I guess the Master could be just screwing with him... so I will concede that is a third possibility....or the Master is wrong......or the Master was coerced, by the supreme master....who himself may have been duped by the SUperSupremeMaster (with a cherry on top)

But since we like simple empirical observations with little assumptions:
If he is telling the truth, he is correct or crazy. (but we know he's just playing)

Let's look at it this way.

99% of the population accepts round earth. Flat earthers believe that they know more about basically everything than the 99%. That's also what sceintologists believe, along with those who believe that they are jesus or that obama's a lizard. And the obama lizard people are just as legitimate as the flat earth people, have just as much evidence, and are as convinced.

Do you see now, itchy? Maybe you're not the one of the few lonely superior geniuses in the hordes of stupid, unwashed plebians.

It's not about being a genius or being stupid. It's about being able to think outside of the rigid indoctrination we have all received.

If you had had any education and any experience at all you would "know that the earth is round" and absolutely no reason that you would "think it might be round."
Stick close , very close , to your P.C.and never go to sea

And I was just about to congratulate you for having an open mind...  Don't think of changing opinions as loosing or doing what "they" want.  That's the problem with conspiracy theories, those who believe them can't think strait because they think that even considering the other side is loosing in some way.  If you keep an open mind and consider the other side then if your beliefs are really true then your opinion shouldn't change anyway, so there is no harm in doing it.

Meanwhile how about you contemplate how sunsets and time zones could exist at the same time on a flat Earth.
