That still doesn't describe how gravity works, though.  The truth is that everything has gravity, not just objects with large mass.

Yes, thats true.

Perhaps I should have given some clarification - the earth has enough mass to have a subsantial gravitational pull.

The answer is that the FE model doesn't provide a certain answer for that. One possible answer can be found in the Dark Matter Cosmology thread. What we did give you was an explanation for why FEers believe the earth to be accelerating: it explains the observed effect of gravity without introducing a gravitational force with no observable cause.

Does it matter? The Flat Earth Hypothesis claims that the moon and the sun have a slight gravitational pull. Can you guys explain how gravity works?

That is only one flat earth hypothesis. Most FEers believe that there's no such thing as gravity.

Since when?

I've always read that they've said they think the Moon and the Sun have gravity...

Maybe I'm wrong :?

That's what's in the FAQ, but I've seen other FEers claim the opposite.

Yeah... when a theory isn't finalized there can be a lot of contradictions.

FE certainly does dispute this. The Flat Earth obviously does not have gravity, or at least its gravity is negated by a gravity-negative substance.

Maybe that is why he used the word "religion".

Anyways, you might not want to start an argument with these guys. As soon as you ask a question, they will either be as vauge as possible, or they will answer your question with another question. They will never give you straight up facts besides "the earth looks flat up close, dur".
