This place used to be home to a lot of people that pretended that the earth was flat....
Some put really good arguments as to why that could be the case, silly arguments but still interesting

But now it seems like Scepti has been breeding and total whack jobs have taken over - its still funny to read but laterly its more of funny peculiar than funny haha

Well it definitely went downhill not quite a month ago when I stumbled across one of cik's videos and followed him link here.
The problem seems to be that you have some pretty knowledgeable Round Earth posters that can't get a proper debate without the current FE posters doing the same tactics of massive copy paste. They also like to throw out any argument that they can't rebut by calling it conspiracy, brainwashed, false for no reason, or misunderstood. They like to also just make an assumption, throw out anything that doesn't fit then claim victory.  They have so many competing theories that a serious debate about the Flat Earth that it is pretty difficult to get any real ideas of what the FET is actually about.  These are not proper debating tactics and it just makes it interesting to see what they will spout out next.
Then you have the crazies who think that anyone who doesn't agree with them are demons or soulless minions.
Almost forgot that most think that all RE people here are government shills, mindless people who believe what they are told, or just trolls.  No serious discussions of competing information are welcomed here, they are immediately dismissed, the posters who bring them up are insulted, mindless repeated mass copy pastes with insults added, or they are told they are just wrong because they are wrong.
I initially started looking into this forum to gain insight into why someone would believe that the Earth was flat, asked one question and the immediate response was that I was denying that things disappear when they get far away.  I didn't take this a a good sign that anything substantial could be gained from the current Flat Earth posters.

I see the Chief Idiot moved this, but didn't feel the need to comment on such a valid query about the forum...That says a lot about the disturbed minds that now run the place...

I'd say bring back Dr Thork - but there really are limits I guess :D

Oh, so mean of nasty tappet.
When it is so obvious Mikey is here to learn flat earth.
Tappet should have read his post with more clarity, then maybe tappet would pander to his bullshit.

It's actually considered to be a mental dysfunction when people talk about themselves in the third person.  Known as "illeism" it's usually associated with a distorted sense of ego.

And although I certainly wouldn't include you in the increasingly large group of "whack-jobs" on these forums, I'd say your opinions are a little left of centre.  You seem to be invariably defensive, and unwilling to even contemplate alternative points of view proposed by the round earthers without resorting to personal attacks or dismissive off-topic responses unrelated to the thread topic.

As per this silly comment of yours to Mikey:  "You can always find a more suitable forum, you know, one where they debate to suit you. Here try this-http://www.knittinghelp.com/forum".

Call it BS if you wish, but it was pretty much what I have seen out of these forums from most (not all) of the current FE supporters.
Insults are the tools of the weak minded, we have all reached that point.  Just some much much faster than others.
Try this next time.
1. If responding to presented evidence, first consider said evidence then provide counter argument (could be evidence) or provide testable ways to disprove the original evidence, end your comment.
wait patiently for next argument.
2. If original person gives new evidence repeat step 1, if original persons give off topic comments or attempt to derail argument, end your place in the argument, if not move to step 3.
3. Once again reexamine original evidence and your own counter arguments for flaws along with any new support for the original evidence, if no consensus repeat step 1.
If you are stuck in the argument and one or both sides are unwilling to consider points, or off topic arguments are thrown into the mix, stop argument move on.
Notice also there is no insults traded, no condescending remarks made,and/or no repeating of the same exact information again.

Is this the first time you have said this to tappet?

I didn't see anything wrong with what he suggested. It is completely meaningful to not insult but to provide evidence.
