Just study what I say.
1. Space travel from Earth is always one way = no way to return.
2. All satellites launched from Earth enter Earth orbits and remain there for ever = no way to change orbit.
3. And that's it!
Nobody can tell me what humans incl. American idiots of both sexes shall do in space ... that cannot be done by a robot.
And nobody can tell me - topic - fuel required for a short trip and how to return safely.
My Challenge is of course still open. Christina Koch & Co has not participated even after spending a year in orbit = plenty time to describe everything. I just feel sorry for her being fucked by her employer and part of a criminal fraud.
1. Lots of evidence that proves otherwise. But your old, we get it.
2. So glad that the concept of conservation of momentum is never required in Marine safety.
3. Concerning what robots can do. Have you seen the DARPA robotic challenges. The most high tech robots are right now just able to do what a 2 year old can do without thinking. So robots are not very capable as much as everyone thinks the terminator movies are a documentary. 1 person on Mars would be able to do everything that all the mars rovers have ever been able to do in one week. Robots are no where close to replacing humans.

What absolute trash! How was this photo taken and processed?

Zond-7 photo of Earth on August 9 1969
Quote
Zond 7

Zond 7, a formal member of the Soviet Zond program and unmanned version of Soyuz 7K-L1 manned Moon-flyby spacecraft, the first truly successful test of L1, was launched towards the Moon from a mother spacecraft (69-067B) on a mission of further studies of the Moon and circumlunar space, to obtain color photography of Earth and the Moon from varying distances, and to flight test the spacecraft systems. Earth photos were obtained on August 9, 1969. On August 11, 1969, the spacecraft flew past the Moon at a distance of 1984.6 km and conducted two picture taking sessions. Zond 7 reentered Earth's atmosphere on August 14, 1969, and achieved a soft landing in a preset region south of Kustanai, Kazakhstan.

Like other Zond circumlunar craft, Zond 7 used a relatively uncommon technique called skip reentry to shed velocity upon returning to Earth. Of all circumlunar Zond craft launches, Zond 7 would have been the first to make a safe flight for a crew had it been manned.

The return capsule is on display at the Orevo Facility of Bauman University in Dmitrov, Russia.
And both NASA and ROSCOSMOS were doing atmospheric re-entry long before that.

Of course "they" can tell you that and if you weren't such a lazy useless conspiratard you could learn that for yourself!
But one thing that "cannot be done by a robot" is to research the effects of weightlessness etc on the human body!

Of course "they" can tell you that! Ask SpaceX, their Crew Dragon took a load of supplies to the ISS then safely returned.

This is actually an interesting topic, far more so than your obsession about poop in space. Thats old hat.

AI, is not one technology!
just as a rocket is not one technology either.

What we have at the moment are some algorithms that can do very cool things, but cant quite replicate human level intelligence. Even if we had to massively increase computing power.
We are a few breakthroughs away before we can do that.
One issue for example is the seer quantity of data that current algorithms need to learn something. Where as humans need very little. A person only needs one picture of a platypus to know what it looks like, whereas the Machine learning alternatives need thousands of pictures.

That said, the breakthroughs required to make the next steps could come quickly as more money is being fed into the system. The current "AI" systems are becoming very useful so there is a ton of research now going on in this direction. I dont think it will be long before the data size problem gets resolved.

Then we can get a true AI to shit post as Heiwa

According Yann Le Cun, professor at University of NY and in charge of Facebook AI research (imagine that!!!) one example of AI is AEBS! Advanced Emergency Braking System! It replaces the old ABS system I use at my bike, so I will not kill myself when braking. AEBS is much better than that! I don't have to brake at all. AEBS detects everything around my bike, etc, etc, bla, bla, bla, so I can watch porno violent hate terrorist videos instead while speeding around. But Yann Le Cun is not alone in AI! Erik Brynjolfsson, MIT professor, thinks AI is a "general purpose technology" that will solve all problems of the world ... 2040! So we have to wait for it.

AI today is different computer algorithms trained using neural networks to identify patterns.
They have huge potential to do all kinds of amazing things, but they are not quite intelligence yet.

AEB systems are trained on those networks yes. And so is Facebooks Ad machine that feeds you bias reinforcing information to keep you there.
General AI, may be some way off. But based on the exponential growth of the field, it may be closer than a lot of people think. Once we get there we are all DOOMED! Or maybe saved from ourselves? WHo knows.

HM, I always try to be up-to-date with the observations of media Fake News at my popular website.
I always keep it simple, i.e:
nuclear weapons, human space travel, the Estonia bow visor and the 911 Arabs destroying skyscrapers are just false information to fool Americans and others. Topic here is human space travel. No humans have ever been in space! One reason is that it is much better and cheaper to use robots up in space. So this American lady Christina Koch having spent a year in orbit is just not true.

As evidenced by?

Here's where I'm confounded:

- Schematics, data sheets, calculations have all been given to you to meet your challenge.
- Video, image evidence as well
- All in line with what you are asking for

Yet, you simply reply that it's 'fake news'

How might a challenge work if all evidence given you simply state as 'fake news'?

If everything has been provided to meet your challenge and then you just say "it's fake news" there is nothing that can be provided to meet your challenge.

Question: What exactly would it take and from whom to meet and exceed your challenge? Your website does not provide the answer as anything put forth is simply met by you with 'fake news'.

So, ostensibly, there really is no challenge as anything put forth is considered 'fake'. Am I right?

First point of order. The Thread was started because you cheated, read post #1
Then the big question about robots, who fixes them when they break? Robots break all the time, just look at how clumsy those mars buggies are.
Then, how do you study the effects of micro-gravity on the human body by using robots?

Also, stop jumping topics, we where talking about how you dont understand AI

I didn't start this thread about my popular human space travel Challenge. I just explain the rules of the Challenge.
You have, e.g., to explain why humans must travel in space, when it seems better, easier, cheaper, etc, to use reliable robots.
If a robot breaks down, it is easy to repair it. Anyway, all space travel is one-way only.
Re AI it seems nobody knows what it is. AI has so far not won my Challenge. I think AI is just a variation of BS.

As with rockets, there are people that know very well what AI is and Isnt.
You are in the category of people that dont know where you left your teeth this morning.

How do you fix a robot in space if there is no one there to fix it?
Making more reliable robots does not mean robots that cant break. Although NASA does have a decent track record for the bots, they all still pick up some trivial issues.
Humans are better than robots. Except for you of course, Heiwa, you should get a Roomba so that you have someone better to direct all of your life decisions.

Be careful with Chinese made robot vacuum cleaners. They map your room and upload it to China. A seemingly innocuous device that defence and military installations are not allowed to use because it would literally upload floor plans to the Chinese.

Also the space is getting pretty crowded. Too many satellites and too much debris. If we don't clean it up we can rid ourselves of the notion of ever getting off this rock regardless of technological prowess in the future

Serious question. Who cares if the Chinese know what the floor plan of your house looks like?
If they wanted that, it would be easier to hack into the local municipalities building applications department and download the detailed plans of your house. But what would they do with your house plan information?
Completely understand military wanting to keep facilities a bit under wraps, but for the most part, unless someone is planning a home invasion, this is not very useful information.
Maybe I am missing something?

It does seem that space junk is getting the needed attention now. All new satellites need de-orbit plans before they go up. re-usable rockets also leave less crap up there, you know, so they can re-use them. So there is at least hope in that regard. Its the old stuff thats the issue.
I wonder what Russia will say if SpaceX decides to capture one of their old nuclear powered spy satellites.

Do they really? There are a lot of technologies that we use that could also be used to spy on people and gather other data. It does not mean it is happening.
In the Case of robot vacuum cleaners, they need to know how your house is laid out so they can effectively vacuum all the rooms. Sure, they can use this info to know how your house is laid out to know . . . stuff about you, but it does not mean they are.

Every cell phone today has a back facing camera for selfies. Apple COULD build a library of every users face when they poop, it does not mean they are. . . . But they COULD!

Intelligence huh?

Would a human run a vacuum cleaner over dog poo? Then smear said poo all over the house?

A.I is fake. There is no 'I' in A.I.
And little in many humans.
Fifty or so years ago it was thought that AI just needed more computer power "thrown at it".
But over the years research seems to indicate that even what intelligence is is poorly understood.

Conventional robotic systems seem to do no more than handle situations foreseen by the designers.

More progress seems to be made by the "big data" approach of having the system examine what millions of humans do and somehow try to emulate it - an extreme case of "throwing more computer power at the problem".
Systems like this are becoming common in some business decisions but when some of these are questioned by a "victim" there is no person who can explain why that decision - shades of Big Brother.
This a point of contention between Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and Elon Musk - Jeff Bezos seems to go for the "big data centrally controlled AI" and Elon Musk wants smaller systems in the hands of the users.

This method has handled language translation between similar languages (English to/from French or German) moderately well.
It still, however, botches up translations between very different types of language, such as English and Russian or apparently English and Turkish.

It still, however, botches up translations between very different types of language

It can't make heads or tails of grammar structure

Different languages have different structures between subject, object and verb

And then what does it do when a same word has a different meaning depending on the context? Especially if the word is isolated and requires the person hearing it to 'see' the context. Or listen carefully to the tone as that can make the difference.

We are a fair way off of doing anything more than rudimentary translations of simple words or phrases.

what website did you use to buy your wife? Did you choose Chinese over Russian because she can't open her eyes to see you?

What animal relates to your wife?

We are a fair way off of doing anything more than rudimentary translations of simple words or phrases.

Some example of your text:
Into Chinese:
Quote

它不能使語法結構的正面或反面

不同的語言在主語,賓語和動詞之間具有不同的結構

然後,當一個單詞根據上下文具有不同的含義時,該怎麼辦? 特別是如果單詞是孤立的,並且要求聽到它的人“看到”上下文。 或仔細聽音調可以有所作為。

除了簡單單詞或短語的基本翻譯之外,我們是一種公平的方法。
Then into Arabic:
Quote

And back into English:
Quote

The front or back part can not be made of grammatical structure

Different languages have different structures between subject, object and verb

Then, what happens when the word has a different meaning depending on the context? Especially if the word is isolated and asks the person who hears it to "see" the context. Or listen carefully to the tone can make a difference.

Beyond the basic translation of simple words or phrases, we are fair way.
And similarly from English to Spanish to German and back to English:
Quote

Cannot form faces or tails with a grammatical structure

Different languages have different structures between subject, object and verb.

And what does it do if the same word has a different meaning depending on the context? Especially when the word is isolated and requires that the person hearing it "see" the context. Or listen carefully to the sound as this can make a difference.

We are far from doing rudimentary translations of simple words or phrases.

The wording is not the same and it would be unsuitable for any final publication - Google translate useful in getting a godd idea of what is meant.
The trouble is that some of the things you raise would be almost impossible for a human translator too as we can see in translations from, say, Hebrew to English.
For old languages much is dependent on what was common knowledge at the time but no longer well known.
The old astrologers (eg the Magi) used terms like heliacal rising or a planet standing still which might not mean much to many today.

But, whatever, let's hope someone can save us from control by AI (AKA Big Brother) - we don't want Amazon ruling the world.
