It's greasy, it's terrible for you, and we all love it.
But why?
Why is bacon so intrinsically... bacon-y?
Is there, cosmically speaking, a reason behind bacon being the delicious heart-attack inducing treat that it is?
Can we ever truly know anything of true importance about bacon?
Or is the study of baconomics all just a huge waste of our time?
