The indoctrination of flat earthers
« on: August 18, 2014, 04:47:22 PM »
Flat earthers explain the fact that almost everyone in the world believes in a round earth by claiming that we have all been indoctrinated by the world's governments, scientists and educators.  The implication, and often the direct statement, is that we should believe only what we can personally verify or what seems logical to us.

But flat earthers believe lots of scientific claims that they cannot personally verify and that can't be logically deduced.  For example, the world's government, scientists and educators have been telling us for a long time that the water molecule is made of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.  Yet there is probably not a single person on this form, whether FE or RE, that is capable of proving this fact.  And yet flat earthers believe it anyway.

So why do you flat earthers believe (assuming you do) that water has the chemical composition that you are told it has?
Sceptimatic is a proven liar - he claims to have authored several books but won't reveal their names.

I agree.
They believe the Earth is flat, but don't even have any explanations on why they believe it, they just say the governments and NASA are lying to us about the Earth being round.
Then, when you send them videos and pics, they say they are faked.

It's hilarious the way they do this.

Not one of them has seen the ice wall or been beyond it, but they go on about it just a little bit.

The answer would best come from the flat earthers themselves . Where are you jroa, sculelos, sceptimatic, et al ?

Some of us "Round Earthers" know very well what the flat earthers think it is.
Stick close , very close , to your P.C.and never go to sea
And you all may be Rulers of The Flat Earth Society

Look out your window , see what you shall see
And you all may be Rulers of The Flat Earth Society

Chorus:
Yes ! Never, never, never,  ever go to sea !

The ice wall is what FE's think surrounds earth and keeps the oceans from spilling over the edge.

Now... returning to the original topic, let's wait for some FE's to tell us why they believe in the chemical composition of water (or salt or DNA, for that matter).

The "ice wall" is what RE'ers call Antarctica.  This is because Robotham said there was a wall of ice around the Earth, and RE'ers like to pretend that everything Robotham said is believed by all of us.

This topic is not about the ice wall, so let's get back on track.  Can a flat earther please respond to the original question?

Oh!
You think that a man that lived 150 years ago is credible?

He replaced Australia with two blobs on his map.

Is he smart?

Have you ever heard of,, 'Sir Isaac Newton,,' and his books,....

"Principia Mathematica", still remains one of the most influential texts in recorded history. This was all completed before his 26th birthday. that's 300 years ago'  so maybe,, you're just kidding.

And it has been verified and used in practice to death. While a massive majority of FErs have no idea whether any of your ideas are even true, but still believe unfounded claims.

Wow, so toxic.
I was using "150 years ago" to describe it, not to say everyone in that time was dumb.
So, try to understand a comment more before replying to it.

Why can't I get a single response to this question from a flat earther?  Could it be that any answer would highlight the hypocrisy of the FE case?  Specifically, that flat earthers believe authorities' statements when convenient and casually dismiss them without evidence when they are inconvenient.

May I suggest you post your query in Q&A. To paraphrase a great flat-earther, your questions will not spark a thrilling debate.

What difference would that make?  Are you saying you would answer the question if I asked it there but not if it's here?

Probably. I'm much more likely to respond to answer-seeking questions rather than a question meant to start an argument.
